Taqueria Y Birrieria Guadalajara — Restaurant in Coachella

The atmosphere was like of those hole in the wall restaurants where you think the food must be good, but no… the food was just as bad as the atmosphere. They had these cheap old tables and plastic plates. This was no hidden gem. It looked like an old truck stop from the 80s. The art on the walls was kind of cool and indicative of what you’d see in a Mexican restaurant.

They didn’t carry Jarritos. I asked for pineapple. They said no, but later I found out they had pineapple agua fresco. The waitress should have told me. My niece had chicken nuggets, but they had no barbecue sauce.

The carnitas tacos weren’t shredded and they had absolutely No flavor whatsoever. My tacos fell apart too. Their tortillas are weak. They did serve complementary chips and salsa which was a nice surprise

They didn’t have any breakfast burritos

We had to wait forever for them to bring our check, they never brought it and we had to walk all the way up to the front counter. I didn’t think we had to do such a thing since there was no sign that said pay here. Then they took forever to operate that ancient machine they called a register. I've been trying different Mexican restaurants for their tortas finally tried their and omg it's so good very authentic bread so soft carne asada chopped and cooked so good. I'm so gladd I tried there . And yes like many other have mention the outside looks not so very inviting but don't let it discourage you the food and service is great . I paid $18.60 for a combo torta fries and a large coke. The green salsa is also very good. I will definitely be trying some other dishes 😁. Been going there for about 20 years now since i was a little kid and the food and service are extremely good. You can't base a rating on one visit. After countless visits i can truly say its one of the best places to eat in the valley.
