This McDonald's location, in Coal City Illinois, is consistently the worst one we've been to. _ There are almost always problems here: ridiculously designed drive-through and parking lot and street exit (you're trapped in there for however long it takes them); _ they take longer than they should to fill the order (my last visit was 17 minutes from timestamp on the receipt to the simple order being handed over); _ wrong order given to the customer, incorrect/missing items in your bag or actually someone else's order; _ low quality food, cold food, old food (especially fries and, most recently, McNuggets), improperly prepared food; _ low quantity food, the fries almost never fill the box, there is rarely the correct amount of salt on the fries, the amount of sauce and/or condiments on the sandwiches is not enough or the normal standard; _ the staff (unless there are some older, more experienced ones present) will spend more time playing with one another and their friends than they will doing their jobs; _ this location is open 24 Hours only on Friday and Saturday and even then we were told that menu items that were displayed on their menu were not available because it was too late, they were out of stock, the machine was shutdown, they don't serve that at this time; _ and, the prices are a little bit higher than they are at other nearby locations. _ These problems have been consistent here for over two decades (I'm not exaggerating), so it indicates to me that these areas of concern are acceptable to and possibly even taught by the managers and owners. _
So, commonly, the food takes too long to receive, is not freshly made, not prepared correctly, not what or how you ordered it, and costs a bit more. _
Having typed all of that, it is a McDonald's and you know what you're getting when you go there and it's the only one here. You may get lucky. They may get better. I do appreciate that they are open early and late.
My advice is to stop somewhere else on your route or go out of your way to go anywhere else. Almost every time that we give this location another chance we are disappointed yet again. _ (Remember to "Like"...

We get home after not checking our food for once and find a chicken Big Mac with a beef patty only on the bottom bun and a half head of lettuce carelessly thrown into the box with no meat on the top section. The regular Big Mac was also made just as disrespectfully and a patty of meat on a regular cheeseburger for our order was put together with a torn apart patty held together by the cheese. I work in fast food as well and I know we all make mistakes, especially with a fast a pace environment as McDonald’s. Read moreWe went through the drive through using a code for a free medium fry when you purchase any size drink. I gave the guy at the speaker the code and on my app it said “Thanks! We got your code!”. I gave my order and he proceeded to tell me the code didn’t work. I said ok on my end the code didn’t work. He told me to refresh the app and use the code again. I did and I said nope now I have to wait 15 minutes because the code was used. He was insistent and rude saying that the system didn’t take it. I said it’s not my fault your system didn’t get it on your end. On my end on the app it says it went through as it says I have to wait 14 minutes to use it again.
