Golden Phoenix Restaurant — Restaurant in Coal City

This way my first time getting food from here and I wasn't disappointed! I was nervous that it would be greasy with no meat but this wasn't the case. Of course everything was still fried so grease was present but it wasn't dripping. I ordered the sweet and sour combo dinner but asked for just chicken, no shrimp or pork. Also the pieces of meat were decent sized. The rangoon could have had a bit more filling inside it but was still very good. I loved the egg rolls and I'm pretty picky about egg rolls. I also got a good amount of food for only $8. My boyfriend got the house fried rice and that was also very good. I would recommend all of these. When I first moved out here we use to order their food a lot! As time went on the quality of their food went down. The last couple of times I've ordered from them they messed my order up EACH TIME. The one time they didn't cook my boba pearls all the way through and told me they technically we're closed and was rushing to go to their grandsons play...but they still took my order and money. This time I ordered a mango boba tea and they read my order back to me and when I received my delivery it was a mango slushie.. I grew up in the city, and for a small town, the food is very good. They are also extremely nice, and the delivery is extremely fast. I just called 15 minutes before they close, and they were happy to take a delivery order. I've worked in restaurants, so I know that's very cool. Lisa, the girl who answers at night is extremely nice while being super fast taking down your order- and she's always correct. If I owned a restaurant, Lisa is the kind of person I would want as the point of contact with customers. Overall, this is the best possible Chinese restaurant that a town like this...
