Staff was friendly and attentive, atmosphere was perfect for kids, they have an arcade and a ticket counter to buy toys with when you get tickets from the arcade games, then there's a put put course in the back! The building itself is well decorated and clean, and has a nice family vibe to it.
We ordered a small pepperoni pizza and a chicken Caesar salad. The pizza looked and tasted like a frozen pizza, I could still see the little shreds of individual pieces of cheese on the pizza, very disappointing pizza. Quite possibly the worst pizza I've ever had at a restaurant before.
The salad was brought out in what looked like a trough. It was dotted with at least 25 croutons. The chicken was long and thick and had no grill marks on it, looked rubbery, and the salad was yellowing and caked with salad dressing. I should have taken a picture, it was utterly disgusting looking. I didn't eat one bite of it. I had two bites of pizza and I can see why my son didn't want to eat any himself.
The cheesy bread appetizer was actually quite good, cheesy and buttery. The pizza and salads were among the worst I've ever had at a restaurant, thoroughly...
Read moreWell i have brought my easily distracted 7 year old grandson to another pizza place with games however I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this particular Happy Joe's, Not near as crowded, games, ticket exchange. Then the delicious food, with Rudy's Tacos being there as well, I can get my tacos and my grandson can have his pepperoni and sausage pizza. Very comfortable outdoor dinning for watching grandpa and Elijah playing put put golf. I have decided that when I plan his next party, think that's going to be the place. It may seem expensive at first 6 dollars per child 9 if the party includes put put golf. Now when you consider everything that cost covers it's worth it. Good job y'all, I forgot to mention how clean everything was. The waitress seemed to be cleaning an already spotless floor. We were there around 2 this afternoon, so if management sees this review y'all will know which waitress I am referring to, that she was on top of her game. Most of the time people are fast to complain, I am one however when I do see something or someone who deserves to be patted on the back, I...
Read moreThe last 5 times we have ordered from them our order for pick up has been wrong. The person who takes the initial order repeats it back correctly when we get the food home it is wrong. The request is not anything difficult we ask for no tomatoes since my husband cannot have them and everytime tomatoes.we even ask the person handing us the food if they are sure there are no tomatoes.the reply we always get we're sure. Hm they must magically apear in a three minute car ride. The fact that choices are very limited to the Coal Valley area has to be one of the main reason they are still in operation with the prices they charge for relatively inexpensive items to produce you would think they would be more extensive in the training of their kitchen staff.when we have returned with incorrect food the cooks in the back have smirked and even laughed apparently they have not been taught about the severity of food allergies. We will be taking a longer drive out of Coal Valley when we want Rudy's. We have already started going to a competitor for our pizza here in...
