Fusion is the best spot for sushi in Northern Baltimore County. My favorite dishes here are the tuna tacos (a must) and the crispy eggplant. I typically skip the special rolls since they're expensive ($14+) and instead go for sashimi or nigiri, but some of the basic rolls ($6) are good too. The sushi roll menu is massive and I wish it were in alphabetical order (this might sound nit-picky but it's so hard to make a list of rolls with friends when you can't find anything!). Also, like other reviewers have mentioned, sometimes the sushi is lukewarm - I think they don't always fully chill the sushi rice as they make it fresh and it ends up warming up the fish, especially with takeout. It's unpleasant but not a dealbreaker and can be avoided if you just order the sashimi.
I don't order from the bar because the cocktail menu IMO is strange, expensive, and watered down, but I do like the sakes and the draft beer selection. I agree with other reviewers that the whole place needs some TLC - there are marks on the booths and walls and the bathrooms really need an upgrade (shoutout to the weird couch). I love the Christmas lights outside and being able to sit out there under the heaters during COVID (please bring this back even though it's cold outside!).
Finally, the staff does not waste a second seating you or getting you your food. They have amazing and efficient servers and kitchen staff. It feels like there is never a wait for food, even when they're slammed. However, this comes at a cost - it always feels like they want to turn the table over and get you out of there as fast as possible, which feels a little awkward.
Overall, I love Fusion and will keep coming back, weird bathroom stall...
Read moreWent around 7 on a Wednesday night. Parking lot was full, but inside seemed empty.
Decor is sparse/modern, with tables around the edge of the room and the sushi bar in the middle. Multiple tv's on the walls playing sports, news, etc - is a bit weird and out of place, more sports bar than restaurant - seems the place has a slight identity crisis.
Menu is expansive, probably too big. One problem with the menu is the lack of description on a lot of the dishes.
We had the crab wontons and coconut shrimp for appetizers. Flavor was good on both, but both were a bit overcooked (coating on the shrimp was almost black).
For the main course, had the chicken Hawaiian teriyaki. It's served with white rice, no options given or listed in the menu. Portion was HUGE. Flavor was very good, not overly sweet as teriyaki can be. Asked for no edamame and the request was honored. Only complaint is that the dish included snow peas that were not listed in the menu.
Prices are quite reasonable. Service was good, drinks refilled a couple of...
Read moreI went to this location for a nice birthday dinner. I was severely disappointed with the service we received. We were rushed throughout the entire experience, when we were given our bills she threw them on our table in no particular order, and she did not properly take our orders. She seemed visibly disorganized throughout the entire experience, and did not care about our guest satisfaction. After we were given our bill, as you can see in the photo attached to this review, there is a section at the bottom where it says “Tip Hint”. I am confused as to why there is a Tip Hint section when they automatically put the tip in for 20% since there was a go rip of 12 of us. Why provide the Tip Hint section when there isn’t any real option??? Our waiter did not deserve that 20% Tip, if any at all. The service was lackluster, she did not greet us friendly, and she had absolutely terrible customer service. If I could rate this experience 0 stars, I would. Please do not book a group reservation here, as you will not be treated as a worthy...
