I’ve been waiting for Tacos Way to finally open! As another reviewer said, it was very nice and clean with nice decor. I also liked the set up they had. Even though I ordered online, you could easily order using computers they had at the counter. While I was there to pick-up, I glanced at a few tables for people to eat-in. I’m not sure if there was more seating in the back.
I ordered 3, American tacos with grilled chicken in a hard shell, salsa, pico de gallo and guacamole dip and churros for dessert. My husband ordered a steak burrito.
The chicken tacos would have been completely dry and flavorless if not for the sour cream and had I not ordered salsa and pico de gallo to go with it. Also, the taco shells themselves were dry, flavorless and shattered like glass with each bite. The salsa and pico were good, but the guac dip needed more flavor, like onions, jalapeños and lime. Lastly, the churros had a nice crunch and moistness to them and the cinnamon/sugar ratio was good, but the churro dough seemed to have a chemical aftertaste.
My husband said his burrito lacked flavor as well, but when I took a bite, I didn’t think it was too bad. At least it had moistness, which is more than I could say for the tacos.
By no means am I saying dump extra salt on everything. In my opinion, salt-wise, I’m glad what I had wasn’t over-salted, if at all, because I am salt-sensitive. It just needs more of other spices and natural flavors, such as, lime/lemon, garlic, onions, cumin, chili powder, etc., and perhaps, marinating the meat, and if you already are, marinating it a little longer.
With all that said, I know this place just opened, so I definitely will go back to give it another try. Hopefully, they will get...
Read moreMy coworkers and I have been waiting for opening day. I was fortunate enough to be at the office during the soft opening. The staff were very attentive, wanted to make sure the kiosk orders were placing properly so they could iron out any hiccups before launching the online ordering. Everything was delicious and well seasoned. I appreciate the level of customization (ex: I can't have dairy, and my friend has that gene that makes cilantro taste like soap. Both of these can be left off). So far we've been twice and had the chicken and the veg mexican style tacos. I was honestly surprised that as good as the chicken was, the veg ones were our top choice. Love the sauces as well. My heat tolerance isn't what it used to be so I appreciate that while the red sauce is hot it's not the usual "all heat no flavor" that you sometimes run across. Will be picking up some salsa today! Looking forward to trying more on the menu and I hope they're here for...
Read moreMost expensive and worst tacos I have ever had anywhere. My wife and I both said when Taco Bell can make a better taco, your place is hosed. We went with the 10 taco box for $30. That would have been ok if the food was good but it just wasn't. The taco shells tasted burnt, the "taco" was nothing more than meat, lettuce and cheese thrown together with a bunch of lettuce and cheese extra in the box. No sauce, no tomatoes, no onions, nothing other than the above. The place isn't really set up for eating in. Even though we had specified it when ordering, we had to go back to ask for napkins, plates and utensils. The staff was difficult to locate and acted as if we were bothering them after we had picked up our order. This was our first...
