El Heredero (Mexican Food) Port St John — Restaurant in Cocoa

If I could give SIX stars for this place, I'd do it in a heartbeat!! Stopped by yesterday when they opened at 11. Our server was very sociable and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The chips and homemade salsa were wonderful. The salsa was very well-balanced where you can taste each ingredient, and nothing overwhelmed the overall flavor. We ordered the fajita burrito with steak. The size of our portions was overwhelming! The flavor of the meal was incredible - again, no one ingredient overwhelmed the dish. What really was impressive is that the strips of steak were marinated, not just plain cooked steak added to the dish. Both of us took home half of our meals for supper. Honestly, if you go home hungry from this place, it's your own fault! They also have a killer hot sauce available upon request. Excellent balance of heat and flavor. It tasted great on the chips and then adding the rest on top of my meal kicked it up a notch in the best of ways. For a place that just opened two days earlier, if there were kinks, we didn't notice them.

From what I understand of their story, they started as a food truck, moved to a brick-and-motar location, and now opened another one in the hamlet of Port St. John. For an area with only a couple of places that offer Mexican food, this is a very welcomed site.

The service is very friendly, very welcoming, and you can definitely tell this is family run. The food was not only served hot and fresh, it was served with more than ample serving sizes. My wife had a special quesadilla, while our friend had their massive burrito, and I chose the pork pieces with rice and corn floutas. None of us could really finish it, those servings were big. Of course, since it was our first time here we decided to get a couple of items off the appetizer menu, Taco Fries and Taquitos - another ample serving.

Outstanding! We have been looking for a great Mexican restaurant without traveling to Melbourne or further- we finally found it! Came in today- this place deserves more than 5 stars!!! There service was so kind, on point, and they kept checking on us. They accommodated to any requests we had; Their portions, the taste and quality of their food, and honestly everything will keep us coming back at least weekly. They also provide a military discount which is so respectful- thank you for a great go-to for Mexican from now on.

Quick question- Do you offer delivery, or are there any 3rd party delivery services that you will be a part of? If not, will that be coming soon if not...
