After we got to Jackson, MI my very Mexican family decided to have lunch here. cause we heard good things about it, and let me tell you! I did not have a good experience. As much as I tried to smooth this down with the fam, because we love supporting our small business back in Houston! We couldn't do that today. We had to run into this woman my mother cheated on my father with, and oh boy was that awkward. wouldn't stop talking about how she would be our new daddy. like lady you are not a man! I mean maybe, she was kinda built like a linebacker. anyways my father was furious, and thought the woman was a man, until she started talking oh boy. she was like 6'5 very hairy and practically balding. while my good ole Mexican father stood at a mere 5'6. the total opposite, anyways we tried to have lunch and the food was Lowkey buns, my dad ran to the bathroom. but with tears in his eyes I think the food got to him or maybe the fact my mother served him with divorce papers. dammit if only we didn't run into Shannon, that tall balding white whoa-"man" you would've been terrified if you saw her. trust me. anyways it didn't really look appetizing I was upset at the food outcome more than looking at my sister balling her eyes out that my mom cheated on my dad with a whoa-"man". Anyways a few minutes later Shannon's mistress walks in and oh golly, if the situation didn't get worse! my mother was mad-mad, she threw my plate of food into the mistress' face. it honestly looked way better on her face than it ever did on that plate, but then they started to fight outside. my dad was still In the restroom, he was 100% fighting demons in there. I could smell it. unless that was the dishwasher, who knows, anyways my sister was just eyeing Shannon the whole time. but after the fight somehow my mom ended on the floor with the mistress, making out. it was weird, Shannon's face was livid. One of my FAVORITE homestyle restaurants to eat at for an INCREDIBLE price in this day and age. I've never eaten here for breakfast so I can't speak on it, but the dinner is outstanding. Their dinner specials for all less than $13 not only including the main course but also two sides, vegetable of the day AND soup as well as salad. If you want to order the special as ala carte you STILL get everything, just not the cup of soup and the meals are HUGE portions plus come with rolls. I've never had a single thing here I didn't like. Clam strips portions are massive, the roasted chicken is so good, ribs and BBQ chicken also good, but I live for their mashed potatoes and chicken gravy. I'm also a ranch snob and they have delicious ranch. Not to mention, they make the BEST split pea soup I have ever had in my life. Do not pass it up if it is on the menu. It is heavenly. I've never had room for dessert and ALWAYS take home enough for a second meal, but the dessert case looks delicious. They have a HUGE variety, too. And, do not forget the wait staff. I've never had a bad one. They are so generous, keep the drinks filled and are kind beyond compare. If you have never been here, don't let the outside fool you. I drive 45 minutes, often, just...

I go almost every Saturday Morning. We go in and sit down right away. Saturday's are nice and slow @opening about 6A.M. I don't have to tell her what I want to drink while looking at the menu. She already knows, and is already bringing it when she brings the Menus. She doesn't rush us or ignore us. Just the right amount of attention. Now, I've got some teeth issues and really the only complaint I have is the toast . It's usually over cooked(toasted) the first time around. But she goes and re-toests one for me. And is happy to do so. The JUST Warmed toasted toast. Which btw is.... (The LOWEST setting on the toaster)) so that I can eat my toast, otherwise anything longer/ darker ... I CAN'T eat. And at the end when getting our check, she knows that I bring my Dog, a 16 yr old Albino Pitt and that Paige is outside waiting Patiently for HER Breakfast too.. So, she always brings Paiges scrambled eggs and my Cappuccino to go when she brings the check. And I'm embarrassed to say this... But I forgot her name. So, you know who you are...
