Cafe Shekel — Restaurant in College Park

PLEASE READ. First and foremost, I saw the recent reviews and did not want to come here. It was a very late night with limited options, we found another place on Google maps called “Saetailanos” the reviews were decent and food looked great. We arrived to find out that this location is operating under two separate restaurant names serving the same things. I was a little thrown off by this and was hesitant to order anything but like I said limited open options to pick from. My in-laws ordered food and I went to wash my hands…the bathrooms were horrid, run down, cobb webs, outright dirty very clear they have not been cleaned in ages (no exaggeration), and no soap in one bathroom. At this point I was not even hungry anymore and could have done without but my spouse and in-laws were starving and we had been traveling all night. BUT let me tell you, when that pizza came out…..BOY did it smell so damn good & the flavors were fireeeee 🤌🏼🙌🏼 Y’all put some love on the pizza! Almost had me forget where I was at and how grossed out I felt beforehand. Only reason I marked down on the food is because shortly after eating I saw one of the chefs come out with the same gloves he was cooking in and answer the phones, deal with the register, touch his nose (he sounded and seemed sick with a runny nose), and went right back into the kitchen did not wash his hands or change the gloves…..& went right back to questioning how this place is even opened and not shut down by public health. That pizza is the only reason I’m giving a 3 star and the woman who took our order was very nice. This place has potential if the pizzas are that good I can’t vouch for any other items on the menu. The owners, managers, & chefs need some refreshers on...

I'm verrry disappointed in the service here - I ordered through Grub Hub and waited three hours - the woman who answered told me my order was being delivered after about 1.5 hours after the order - 3 hrs later still no food. I call back and she says "oh! The food is still here on the counter and the order must have been cancelled through grub hub" (which it wasn't I later confirmed) she places me on hold for fifteen minutes never to come back to the phone - I can hear her taking orders and laughing in the background, then I'm hung up on. I call back and she's just like, "I'm sorry you have to call the restaurant or grub hub tomorrow I don't know what happened...I'm sorry." She was talking to me and the person who was ordering at the counter at the same time and It was just really unprofessional, lack of care/concern, tacky and def left a bad taste in my mouth! On a spiritual level when people are that careless, sloppy and unhelpful, do we really want them preparing our food? Guess it was a blessing in disguise - we have to do better people 🙏🏽

This order took place 1/15/21/1/16/21 late night - 1-4 am so whoever was answering my calls.dropped the ball - I share for this to be a teaching moment - you guys should offer some form of discount, free meal.or.something when such shenanigans go down - its not ok for things to be so fast paced where someone who orders and pays for food and is told the food is on the way only to have it never delivered for an unknown reason and nothing...

I ordered last night from the country inn and suites in college park. I had a small pepperoni pizza, mozzarella sticks and a bottle water. It came up 20 something but even though it took about 45 minutes which is what I was quoted. The driver was unprofessional. I didn't like the way he held my food it was in a bag but too close to his armpit and he was very lackadaisical about the delivery as if he had all the time in the world. He called prior to his arrival and told me to meet him in the lobby so I waited and when he showed up I met him outside. I was annoyed because I shouldn't have to met him outside. Nonetheless I tipped him a measly 2 dollars even though he doesn't deserve it. But on a positive note the lady who took my order seemed very nice. We had a good small conversation ! I obviously wouldn't recommend. First and last time ordering. There was the bare minimum of sauce on this pizza like it was pathetic and I didn't even eat two slices. The cheese sticks were the same. Didn't finish it. Just horrible...
