Came in today and open a 2 l of ginger ale to take a sip and was rudely interrupted by a Stern lady with short hair like the comment prior to mine that had no people skills with "let's go....let's go...... you read the sign that says don't drink in here and I said what?
Because you are going to drink again ( antagonizing a child of trying to get a negative response but did not know that I would spiritually respond not knowing that it was just soda ( thinking that it was a beer) from the facial and body expressions and when she found out that it was just soda she quickly said to cover herself "well you are going to get thirsty again and drink it so come on assuming that I would do said you are going to get thirsty again and drink it and there's no drinking in here instead of telling me to please put it away or please put it in your bag or there is no drinking soda in the library she thought that I had a beer and was assuming........................... however she still after I said God bless you said it's not about that.
And that is what I want to say. She reacted with No people skills No consideration of others No Dale Carnegie how to win friends and influence people No humility from being a child of GOD
I had to remind myself of what my Grandmother taught me...."don't let nobody take your joy"! I said "I apologize, yes ma'am I do not know what to say after that"
And she still looked at me but could not say anything. Thankful for our Fathers word and the head librarian as well as the sheriff whom I first saw before I walked in the door of your very beautiful renovated College Park Library.
However I had to leave and work on my music elsewhere because I did not feel invited. Blessings to you!...
Read moreThe library is clean and well maintained. However, the staff is in need of some serious customer service training. I have never been to a library with librarians who seem to despise their job. They act as if it is a chore to help you find materials, check books out, or ask questions about your account. When my children go to this location, they fear asking the ladies anything because they act like it is such a chore to assist them. I am highly disappointed in this location as it is bad enough that we are witnessing the closings of libraries throughout our black communities. The ones that we DO have should be welcoming and inviting. The one Caucasian lady has always been nice and helpful and I find this troubling that it is always our own with the attitudes and poor customer relations. Please do better for those who patronize this establishment. If children or adults asking questions annoy you, then please find another...
Read moreThere is a lady with short hair that works or volunteers at the library. She needs customer service training. She's not capable of distinguishing between the kids who show up there and the adults who are patrons. She needs to be reminded that the library is not a prison and she is not a warden. Her tone and even her abilities are not an asset to this branch; especially given the low rate of utilization of the branch. It's not like she has a lot of people to interact with. The shorter lady is nice enough, but this one with the short hair must be serving out court imposed duties or something. I wouldn't even bother to write this, but on at least two occasions her whole attitude has been dismissive or confrontational and for NO GOOD REASON. I'll elaborate if needed, but I'm sure I'm not the first person to...
