40 minutes for me to get the other half of my order last time I was in. On a Monday. With only a 5 minute stretch with 5 people in line WELL after me. And my order was a heated croissant and a bagel and cream cheese. And the half of the order that DID make it out, was wrong. They put cream cheese on my croissant. You can't write this stuff.
How did I know it was 40 minutes for a heated bagel & cream cheese? I kept my receipt. And presented it to them on the two times I inquired about the delay on my order. Regardless, there was no apology offered, but rather the excuse that they "got busy." Which, they weren't "40 minutes for a bagel on a Monday busy" from this old service industry dude's eyes. And there were 4 employees.
Which leads me to why I reviewed Rogers at 3-stars. The food quality (emphasis on the bakery and not the sandwiches per as) and the price points keep this place on the radar. The cozy atmosphere helps as well. But as long as I have been coming to this place, the service always seems to struggle. It's a shame. An apology or accountability measure when warranted would go far, but often times I feel like their is simply a detached lack of genuine...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I went to Roger's Bakery on a Tuesday morning at about 9 am. It wasn't extremely busy (a few people in line), but there was a steady stream of customers coming in. At that time, the selection of baked goods was limited, but we attributed that to us getting there after most of the baked goods were snatched up already by other customers. As a result, I had a breakfast burrito (scrambled eggs, bell peppers, turkey bacon, and cheddar cheese), and my girlfriend had a veggie scramble with GF toast. It was quite tasty. The service was a bit slow as we waited about 20 minutes for our coffee drinks and breakfast. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant, including a back room that was being occupied by a group of about 12 men having a meeting. Their lunch menu appears to be pretty extensive, and one can make online orders for pickup. They also have a drive through that seemed to have a steady flow...
Read moreWe live in the TriCities and were given a box of Roger’s maple bars and we were blown away by how wonderful they tasted and looked.
We drove an hour to buy it today and we called in ahead at 7 am to reserve six maple bars.
When we opened the box at the store, the bars looked so sad. Most of the bars had barely any frosting.
The bars in the display looked like the bars we were given; full of frosting and nicely shaped.
If you like maple bars, don’t order ahead because you’ll probably be given the imperfect ones. Order at the counter where you can see the quality of the donuts. At almost $2 a bar, I expected a little more quality control and consistency.
We ended up ordering two from the counter to...
