Tipsy Turtle is your ideal kickoff bar in Northgate. Tucked in at 113 Boyett Street, this cozy shot bar may be small, but it brings big energy—especially when it comes to their legendary pickle shots and strong frozen drink game. I’d recommend lining up 2–3 shots to get the night rolling—think of it like scooping your favorite ice cream flavors—and from there, you’re perfectly primed to explore the rest of the district. Beyond shots, the menu surprises you: expertly crafted cocktails, a handful of frozen drinks, and even a selection of beers if you want to mix things up. The hours (Tuesday through Saturday, around 8 PM to 2 AM) make it a great launching point for a lively evening out. The bartenders are usually a fun crew that add to the upbeat vibe, though some guests have noted occasional service hiccups. Overall, for low-key thrills and fast fun, Tipsy Turtle is a solid first stop.

There was nobody at the door checking IDs. No flow to the bar. Poor experience, crowded. Bar tenders looked overworked.

Local shot dive bar. Very small, but friendly bar tenders. Shots only.

Wish I could give 0 stars for the horrible experience we had here. First of all, the bar is extremely small & it was over crowded, hardly any room to walk. My friends & I ordered pickle shots which is something the bar is known for. We ordered 6 shots and waited patiently for our drinks. After we got them my friend paid for them. The extremely rude bartender asked aloud who he was & then proceeded to tell him to "get the f* out of my bar" my friend asked why in which the bartender replied that my friend did not leave a tip when in actuality he did leave a tip. After my friend questioned him he yelled aloud to the entire bar "everyone tell this fing ccksucker to get the f* out of my bar" by that point the entire bar was yelling at him to leave & another worker proceeded to escort him out of the bar. a very extreme way to handle the situation on the bartenders part, after my friend actually did leave a tip after he paid and was accused of not leaving one. i will never go back here, such a...

To the gentleman behind the bar that was on a power trip and acted like a 6 year old girl on 11/08/24 at 11:15pm, all of your co workers were laughing at you due to your extreme childish behavior and unprofessionalism. You yelling at everyone “I can stare too” because we were looking at you because of your temper tantrum you threw was hilarious. Yelling at us saying “im sure you voted for Kamala” and “I know he’s gay” was very immature and then going behind the bar and throwing your towel was insane. You are a liability for that company. We understand my friend was in the wrong and he was leaving but your behavior after everything, I’ve never seen an adult...
