I lived here my freshman year, and am coming back for my sophomore year. This is by far the nicest dorm at Texas A&M. It’s also the most expensive. Early in the semester there are definitely lots of drunk rich kids being kind of rowdy, but they calm down pretty fast, and this becomes a great place to live. The housekeeping is a little overstated on their website- all they really do is mob the front area of your room real quick and then move on to the next dorm. They don’t take out the trash or clean the mirrors or anything like that. The internet is very fast and reliable and there are literally 4 lounges on each floor with huge TVs that are free to use, so over the 5 floors there’s literally about 20 lounges free to use. The game room downstairs is fun and all, but don’t put too much of your decision into which dorm to live in based on it- you’ll probably play ping pong once a semester and never step foot down there again. The RAs here are great, and because this is the best dorm at A&M, I get the feeling they assign the best RAs here too. There are plenty of dorm activities hosted by the RAs if that interest you, but if you don’t want to be involved then they won’t bug you. There are usually 2 hall meetings a semester just going over any issues in the hall. They usually keep these to the point and pretty painless, and they are usually only about 15 minutes. Overall I would definitely recommend living here if you get the chance!

This was a great experience for my kids. They really enjoyed themselves. Thank you Aggies for the great tour.

I called this dorm my home all of freshman year, and I wouldn’t have wanted it a different way. Hulla has some amazing RA’s, and the convenience of having 3 kitchen/lounges on each floor was unbeatable.

^^^ that was for the parents. If an incoming student is reading this, everything i previously mentioned is true. But, the best part of living at hulla is that if you have one of the remotely decent RA’s, they don’t give a flying F* what you do. The rooms are huge and each suite retains almost all of its sound, so your noise limit is very high. We threw at least 10 dorm parties, 2 of which has at least 30 people there, and NEVER had anything CLOSE to an issue. Live...

I had black mold in my bathroom and my shower would flood our floor whenever we used it. Facilities and relief just kept pointing fingers and the problem never really got solved. I got black mold poisoning from the basically brand new dorm and had to threaten lawsuits before people came to look at the issues before any actions were taken. When people finally came to fix things after months of sending in work orders and calling in complaints, they did a poor job, didn't complete the job, and/or lied...
