The Village Inn — Restaurant in College Township

the service was absolutely terrible, even before we found a worm in the fish. the lady serving us was unnecessarily rude. not shockingly/enough to make me write a review about it (yet). but noticeably when we ordered.

now for the worm/parasite: the woman was SO rude about it. we asked her what it was and she said “i don’t know” and walked off. no explanation, no nothing. like she was trying to just avoid the situation.

she only answered when we went up to her and said it was a worm/wanted compensation. she offered compensation for the one friends meal. it’s not a problem that she only comped one meal but her attitude and rudeness surrounding the whole thing was extremely patronizing and frustrating. we definitely think she was acting this way due to our age.

after we experienced this we chose not to tip. when she saw the first of us (a white woman) didn’t tip, she side-eyed our friend nastily and didn’t pay her more attention. she then skipped over the second friend (who’s asian) and went to the other white person at the table. what???

of course, if you’re an older white person eating there i’m sure you won’t care; you are who they cater to. but keep this in mind for others choosing to dine here...

The pick up service tonight was horrible. People were waiting so mad. I called and ordered and was told it will take 20 to 25 mins. I said ok. 30 mins passed I came in I said a pick up she said name I told her she said 26 bucks she swiped my card then inna sneaky way she left not saying it is ready or sorry we got behind nothing. She did this and she knew what she was doing! 15 mins passed and I confronted her I said you took my money and left like I’m not here. She said well I wish we don’t have all these tables I said we all have wishes but you need to communicate! Then she said it will take 30 mins I said great so that’s an hour total! The fact you work in customer service and you are grumpy you should be fired and you should never ever step in to customer service. This resturant now is in the low list of ones I’ll go to. Really bad attitude for the pick up and estimated time and...

The food was really good and the service was nice. We were out there for a girl scout event, so we had our kids with us. They don't have a kid's menu so our bill came up to $90 for four people. They also charged $2 per glass of soda water. Most places that we have been to, do not charge extra for soda water. We tried the mushroom fries. Nothing too special there. It was just sliced deep fried mushrooms. The portions we're large. I would say a quesadilla would feed 2 people easily. It was one of the best quesadillas I have ever had. My daughter loved the pulled pork sandwich. My other daughter loved her Santa Fe quesadilla. My husband's hamburger was very overcooked. The sweet potato fries were soggy and super greasy. Atmosphere was nice. There were a number of items on the menu that I would love to try. But it looks like it could be hit or miss, especially...
