Do not be fooled by this one star rating. One star is too much for McDill’s. If you have a party greater than 5, I would strongly reconsider your choice for dinning. If you plan on splitting checks, McDill’s is not yet caught up with modern technology as this simple task proves to be impossible for them.
A typical 45 minute - 1 hour and 15 minute dinning experience turned into 2+ hours of waiting for food to be prepared, mistakes to be fixed, and bills to be delivered/processed. When first glancing at their short menu, one would believe each dish to be excellent since there are not many options. However, dishes arrive late, cold, and far below par, if at all. Take every expectation you have for a classic dish and drop those expectations drastically to that of your local bar that serves frozen pizzas and Taquitos. I would suggest avoiding any sandwich dishes, including hamburgers, as the bread is either inedibly hard or too big for the contents.
Although the staff is unprepared and not trained for their roles/responsibilities, I want to stress that this all stems from the manager. The disrespect he showed to both the staff and customers was apparent to all and caused several long stares into the kitchen (that’s doors are frequently left open from employees slamming them open and/or running through them) from all the unfortunate diners at McDills. Culture starts from the top and McDills culture is based around disrespect and taking advantage of those who choose to spend their time and money there. The manager should be the only one held accountable for the disfunction. You cannot blame the employees for their lack of guidance and training when so much is needed to give this establishment a sliver of hope.
We still have part of our party double charged for other’s food, have individuals still waiting on their chips, and those who received chips are still trying to rinse the grease out of their mouth due to the fact that we didn’t receive one refill on water in the 2 hours and 15 minutes we spent there.
A single apology from one member of their staff would have felt like a win but the words “I’m sorry” were only uttered by the individual in our party who recommended McDills.
Avoid McDill’s at all costs unless you would like to punish yourself for breaking your New Years Resolution or achieving revenge on your sworn enemy by ruining their...
Read moreMy wife and I met our grandson and his fiance at this establishment on Sunday the 28th of January 24, we were greeted by a young man at the door who was very friendly and seated us and told us that our waiter would be right with us. We waited 20 minutes for the young man behind the bar to come around and take our order which is very surprising because nobody was hardly in the establishment at the time we came in. We gave him our drink order and it took him roughly 10 minutes to get that out and then when he came back around we gave him our food order and then 10 minutes later our food came out. At that point in time he had done made three rounds about the tables in the establishment and completely passed our table! Each round he made he passed our table! He was a skinny young man with long ponytail and red painted fingernails not that I'm judging today's Society, we live in a different world! Anyway this young man was not very good at his job he needs to be retrained! The owners have a lot of work to do with their staff! I have been in this establishment many times before and have never been treated the way I was that day. He went around four times to tables and completely passed us not looking at us or acknowledging us. I had to go up to the bar twice to get another beer and to get my grandson another drink. Yet everybody else was waited on. Not very happy about the service at all! We were going to stay and watch the game but after having to do all the work myself plus pay the Bill and tip this young man I felt like I was at Walmart! Damn near had to serve myself and pay the bill too. But don't worry, that young man still got a tip! If it wasn't for my wife he wouldn't have gotten nothing! This is honestly not the first time I've been treated like this at this establishment. From here on out I will be taking my money elsewhere. There's a nice establishment down the road from macdills which I would encourage everyone to go to. It's called Fridays! Cheaper beer and much, much better service! And Sam Walton's words, it takes months even years to get a customer, it takes seconds to lose them! I'll...
Read moreWe were not thrilled with our visit to McDill's. It is branded as an Irish Pub, but there really wasn't very much Irish about it except some decor on the walls. They have an Irish burger on the menu, but it's "Irish" because the onions are sauteed in Guinness. The waitress and the young gentleman that seated us were both very nice and attentive. That's what's keeping me from giving this establishment two stars. McDill's has some good beer on tap. I had a Smithwick's, and that was the best thing I had that night. We ordered pulled pork nachos and a fried chicken sandwich for our meals. I didn't take a picture of the nachos before I started eating them, but if you look at the picture I posted you can see all the grease sitting in the bottom of the bowl - 😐. The cheese on the nachos tasted like it came out of a plastic bag at Taco Bell. The pulled pork was tough, drenched in a sweet BBQ sauce and it didn't have a good flavor to it. My daughter's fried chicken sandwich was extremely dry and bland. I ordered an old fashioned after I had the waitress take my plate away. I don't know what the bartender made, but it tasted like he put equal parts of cherry juice and cheap bourbon into the glass with no ice and no bitters. It reminded me of cough syrup. Also, when the college football game came on the TV, bartender walked around and turned all of the TVs up so loud that I couldn't even hear my daughter talking to me at the table. I won't be returning, and I would not recommend this place. There are far more enjoyable places to eat...
