Since the 1950s BJ’s Velvet Freeze has been serving up classic burgers and shakes. It was pretty busy when we arrived, but the walk-up line moved quickly. We got our chocolate malts first and our food order probably 5 minutes later. I got the cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato added and my husband got the monster burger. Both were hot and delicious with fresh ingredients and melty cheese. The fries were thick with the perfect amount of crisp and saltiness. The chocolate malt was my favorite part of the meal—extra creamy, rich, and comforting. There’s no inside dining, just some benches and tables outside, or your car. It can be quite noisy outside with N Union traffic blasting by. My one complaint is that there’s tons of menus on the building, but none of them detail what’s on the burgers until you get to the window to order. Then there’s a sheet with pictures and tiny font explaining what comes on each burger. Overall, the food here is great. Even if you’re not into burgers, they have a lot of other options to choose from. If you’re craving something simple, satisfying, and nostalgic, this burger joint is the just the place.

What a delightful popular place. The young lady who were working out the stand were very polite and very happy to be there and to serve us. We enjoyed ordering our ice cream and having a snack late in the evening. I was super surprised to see how popular play like the fifth it's just so neat. If you enjoy ice cream this is a place to come in Colorado springs. We all scream for ice cream scream for ice cream we all scream for ice cream. Allegedly as a historic ice cream place. According to the person for the next to me they fail for historic ice cream place. Prehistoric 1985 when the person fitting next to me fed they used to go here I guess I don't know it's cool I liked it it has a really nice outdoor feeding area.

I don’t know how I just now discovered BJ’s after living here almost 10 years but I’m so glad I did!!! We’re from Illinois where breaded pork tenderloin (BPT) sandwiches are everywhere and I thought Culver’s was the only place to get them here but we will no longer be going to Culver’s. BJ’s ice cream is better too! And I must mention our love for their fried mushrooms & ranch!! It feels like home. ❤️ We were also very impressed with their prices! Cheapest fast food our family has had in a long time but better quality. Pictured is the BPT, a CHILD cherry dip cone, and a small butterscotch sundae. Ok excuse me while I go run out because my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

My family and I have been to BJs no less than 100 times over the years… but you know what they say… it only takes 1 time to ruin it.

  1. I arrived at 9:01… by the time I walked up to the window it was 9:02… and they close at 9 during the winter. So I was late… but so were the 8-9-10 other cars in the drive thru that hadn’t even ordered yet…had I just got in the drive thru line I assume I would’ve been served because there was 9 cars in the line ahead of me… and they hadn’t told any of them to leave or that they were closed… Just terrible service… they weren’t closed up.., I wasn’t the only person there… I was only ordering a couple soft serves (she didn’t bother to ask anything like though) … and yet without even thinking twice the teenager at the window told me “sorry we are closed” and let me walk away. Any normal person would’ve seen the 9 cars in line and said hey you’re one minute late And served me my 3 soft serve ice cream cones that would’ve taken all of 78 seconds to make. Now they lost a customer because their employees aren’t capable of utilizing common sense. I did originally read BJ brewery and think they were open until 11… but my point stands… there were 8-10 cars in the drive thru waiting to have their order taken and had I just gone there… I guess maybe I would’ve been alright? Ironic part of this is I was actually at the window at 8:58 and I remembered I didn’t grab my wallet so I had to walk back to my truck and coincidentally I wasted 1-2 minutes sending a text. She saw me at the window before it closed though… anyways… the normal thing restaurants do is not shutter up 5 minutes before closing time and send people away who are paying money for the easiest things...

I’m highly disappointed! I have been coming to this mom and Pop ice cream shop since I was preschool as far back as I can remember. I frequent this place often even throughout the winter because I’m addicted to strawberry shakes and they have one of the best in town. Today I went through drive-through three of us adults in the vehicle ordered all of us food, and the dog a plain burger Had to wait like always because it is a mom and Pop shop for food and they forgot a fry. I went to the front to let the girl and it was the same girl that took my order initially and she blamed me as if I did not order it but even the other two adults, remember me ordering it, but not only that I was gonna let it go, but I got home and noticed that she completely forgot my bottled water as well. So from the beginning when she took our order, she was rude and had to attitude When I went to the front to obtain the fries that were missing. She had an attitude and blamed me in front of all the other patrons now that we’re home we realize that she forgot to give us the bottled water as well. Maybe she didn’t put it on the original ticket. I didn’t get a copy of the receipt. I wasn’t asked to get a copy of the receipt. Very...
