We went last night as a group of 4 and had an excellent time. If I could give more than 5 stars for service, I would.
The restaurant was pretty empty, but that's to be expected when the sign still says "Lobstah Trap" outside. The tables are spacious, which left plenty of room for all the dishes we ordered.
Butter chicken: Excellent rendition, "spicy" was pleasantly spicy for someone who enjoys spicy food, and I'm certain that people who love spicy food can get it spicier, which I'll likely do next time with whatever main dish I try.
Plain naan: I was foolish and got this instead of the butter naan, but it was still very good with the butter chicken.
Garlic naan: Delicious and garlicky. Nothing to complain about.
Paneer naan: This is the best paneer naan I've had in town. It was almost like a quesadilla with how much paneer they stuffed into it.
Paneer Pakora: Think of these like mozzarella squares. Obviously paneer doesn't have the same stringy quality, but they layered the paneer with spices, and they were better than I anticipated. I'd definitely get them again.
Gulab Jamun: These were like donut holes filled with syrup, which I absolutely loved. I think the most impressive part of the dessert is the price, which felt very reasonable, especially compared to desserts at other Indian restaurants.
Because the restaurant was so empty, they offered to take us back and show us their clay ovens, and how they bake their naan, which was a fun process to watch.
Each and every staff member was kind and attentive. They also leave you a bottle of water on the table, which I much prefer to waiting...
Read moreLet’s start with the service. Rakesh was AMAZING i don’t think I’ve had better service anywhere else in Colorado, including the higher end dining establishments where you would expect a different level of service. He was so patient and kind, helping describe the foods we were interested in. Constantly checking back in on our table to see how things were to our liking and if we needed anything, from refills to more plates and silverware, removing finished platters. he even held the door for us as we left.
Now you wouldn’t expect the presentation of the food to be so top tier being that from the outside it’s in a smaller strip mall with other shops having grab and go items. This is not the case. The presentation of the food was well thought out. The ambiance, lighting, temperature in the room, quietness of the guests, and comfort of the seating really had us feeling like we were home.
Now most important, the food. Chicken was so tender, easy to cut through with a butter knife, sizzling and PACKED with the right amount of flavor. The breads were very light and fluffy. Nothing was too spicy, more “spiced” then “spicy”. And the deserts were spectacular! The perfect size after a filling meal. Sweet but more of a “breakfast donut” sweet. You could almost taste the time it took to handcraft these deserts. Nothing tasted store bought , or artificially sweetened. Rakesh even brought us a desert on the house to sample for the table.
Very authentic Punjabi, I would add this to my regular dining restaurants list. Can’t wait to come back, hopefully we get...
Read moreFirst visit. Makesh greeted me with a smile upon entering. Since I don’t eat Indian food that much, he helped me select the lamb with Korma sauce. It was tender and delicious. The sauce was mild with a slight curry taste, nothing overpowering. Creamy. The rice was pretty typical of what you get at any Indian restaurant.Very good. I decided to wait inside for my order to be ready. He offered me a hot chai tea and cookies. On the house! It was the best Chai I ever had . Perfect spice blend and so creamy. My only complaint is that there wasn’t a lot of meat in the korma sauce. Way too much sauce / meat ratio. I usually go to a different Indian restaurant and I have to say the portions are much larger. I was sharing my entree with another person but I felt it was a bit small for the price, but certainly was delicious. The garlic naan was cooked with the consistency of a pizza crust . I prefer it softer but it was still good. It’s a 5 star experience for everything except the portion size. I took off a star for that but it’s not a dealbreaker. The inside of the restaurant was so clean and bright. The location is where Bob’s Lobsta Trap was. I will dine in next time to enjoy the atmosphere. Give this place a try! I will definitely go back. I may have to get another chai...
