Let me start out by saying the pupusas themselves, are divine! I was born in San Salvador and they are pretty close to homes. My only and biggest complaint is the cost of "extra" cortido and the amount I am given. I bought 9 pupusas to go and paid for extra cortido, about $1.75 which I thought was reasonable. My suprise was when I got home I only received one container of cortido and two very small containers of salsa.( they held maybe 3 tablespoons each) That is insane, maybe she just charged me for extra but forgot to even include it in my bag. My issue is when I pay for something, I want it. In CA you are given enough cortido and salsa for EACH pupusa. The young chic in the front called ne "lady" but I just thought, "maybe shes just not educated in formalities", which I overlooked. I came the very next day and was charged $2.75 extra for cortido( yes a different price) I understand you need profit but please change this. Understand each pupusa needs cortido and salsa for it to taste authentic. The pupusa, cortido and salsa taste amazing but this faulty issue in price change and amount given should be addressed. I will talk to the owner next time because these are BOMB and the only pupusas that taste...
Read moreThe food I had was great. My review is based on the service when ordering.
I arrived and scanned their menu QR so I could order. Upon trying to pay, the woman tells me their credit card machine was down, but just seconds later, one of the servers comes over with a table’s credit card to charge it. I said whatever and handed her cash. Then I told her I needed a receipt so I could get it reimbursed for work. She said she couldn’t provide one but she could write down that I gave her money. I told her that wasn’t something I could submit, and I pointed to the other receipts I saw and said that’s what I needed. She started entering items into the POS and then provided me with a receipt - and then I saw that all of the food items were higher in cost than the menu I had just scanned.
I dislike feeling like I’m receiving dishonest service. Please correct the menu that you have customers scan to order their food, and if your Square tablet isn’t taking credit cards, then make it known before your customer starts ordering. I understand that there are times when restaurants need to change their prices, but it needs to be shared upfront. The food is good, but I’d look out for...
Read moreI'd love to see this restaurant do well, but can definitely tell they are new and they are still going through the growing pains that only experience brings.
We were greeted in spanish, which was a first for me in Colorado at a restaurant, however they spoke perfect english as well. We were seated in a booth with a torn seat and very little cushion - it was pretty uncomfortable. The whole restaurant was open so I wasn't sure why were give this booth.
The woman who greeted us was the only one working the front. There were a couple times we had to ask for refills.
The food took a bit, which I don't mind for hot, fresh food. Both my husband's and my plate had plenty of food. My husband requested corn tortillas and he got 4 or 5, I got flour and only got 2 small tortillas. When I asked for more I got 2 more. They were hot and possibly homemade - however we were charged $4 for those 2 extra tortillas! That seems like a bit much.
Overall, the food was yummy but they have some things to straighten out if they want to be successful - which I think they...
