5 Stars — This place is a cathedral of dairy and divine madness. Let me just say this: The Ice Cream Mill in Colorado Springs isn’t just a dessert shop — it’s a fever dream sent by God and subsidized by Big Dairy to remind us that joy still exists in this doomed simulation. I walked in expecting a scoop, MAYBE two. I left a different man. I left with a bitter brickle and lemon custard hot fudge sundae that rewired my childhood trauma and gave me stock tips. Let’s talk about this sundae. Bitter Brickle?! What even is that? It tastes like if your ex finally apologized and meant it. Then Lemon Custard saunters in like some kind of zesty messiah with a citrus zip line straight to your pineal gland. And just when you think you’ve felt it all — hot fudge pours over the top like the U.S. economy on ayahuasca. The staff? Beautiful little ice cream angels, all of them. One of them had a glint in her eye like she’d seen the collapse of five civilizations and still chose to serve joy in a bowl. This place is where Hunter S. Thompson would’ve gone to spiritually detox. This is the final boss of sundaes. This is not a want — this is a biological need. If you’re in Colorado Springs and you don’t go to The Ice Cream Mill, I honestly don’t know what you're doing with your life. Probably crying in the Hobby Lobby parking lot, eating expired Chobani out of spite. Grow up. Go get a sundae that tastes like redemption and comes with a side of cosmic realignment. Five stars. Six, if the system would let me.

I was so excited to find this ice cream shop across from our hotel!! Everything was perfect except a lead taking the orders was incredibly rude. I'm not sure why she was irritated, maybe that we didn't know the menu? I'm unsure, however I did tell the manager, Becca that I thought she needed a break or something because it wasn't just us she was short and rude to. My unsolicited advice:: Your being paid to take an ice cream order in an air conditioned building. There is no rush. You do not make commissions. Take a breath, be helpful and/or patient. Your getting paid the same amount per hour regardless. unless you are rude, then you could find yourself unemployed. All because kindness and patience was eluding you. I wish I would've gotten pictures of our ice cream but my husband insisted we get it to go because he was so irritated about the employees behavior. I'm thankful he didn't just walk out. Our ice cream was so good! We ordered a root beer float, lil buckaroo and two gold rush sundaes. I would still recommend visiting this place! It's unique and such an experience!

WOW!!! What a great surprise to find this hidden gem! With Colorado Springs being so large, we typically have mostly chain restaurants, especially in this part of town. This place is amazing! Family friendly, amazing, sweet, friendly employees! The atmosphere makes you want to hang out for a while! The prices are shocking--SO reasonable!!! Cara waited on us and she was SO sweet, friendly, and made the drinks and sundae to look exactly like the photos! I ordered the Gold Rush Sundae and what a beautiful sundae! The sundaes are made with such care and precision! One of my sons ordered the Sarsaparilla Float--amazing! My other son ordered the orange juice float called "Ranchers Nectar". I bought a pint of rum raisin ice cream for my mom. Everything was fresh, SO delicious! I grew up in a small town in SE Arkansas and at church we regularly had homemade ice cream nights. So I feel like I know good homemade ice cream recipes and this place is top notch! This is going to become a regular for our family! ❤️🍦

The Verdict: The Ice Cream Mill isn’t just an ice cream shop; it’s a destination for pure, scratch-made delight. It offers outstanding value and genuinely warm service, making it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, high-quality frozen treats in the Springs.

The Star: Homemade Excellence

The absolute standout here is the ice cream itself, made entirely from scratch on-site. You can taste the difference immediately. This isn’t mass-produced, factory-frozen fare. The flavors are rich, vibrant, and incredibly fresh. Whether you opt for a classic like velvety chocolate or vanilla bean speckled with real seeds, or venture into more adventurous seasonal offerings, the quality shines through. The texture is consistently perfect – creamy, smooth, and satisfyingly dense without being overly heavy. Knowing it’s crafted in-house adds a special layer of authenticity to every bite.

Unbeatable Value

In today’s world of premium pricing for artisanal goods, The Ice Cream Mill is a refreshing exception. Their prices are remarkably reasonable, especially considering the exceptional quality and the fact that they make everything themselves. Portions are generous – you absolutely get your money’s worth (and then some). It’s the kind of place where treating the family doesn’t break the bank, making it easy to indulge guilt-free.

The Heart: Exceptional Service (Thank you, Sophia!)

A great product is elevated by great people, and The Ice Cream Mill excels here too. A special shoutout must go to Sophia. She embodies what customer service should be: consistently friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, Sophia greets you with a warm smile and is happy to offer recommendations, describe flavors in detail, or let you sample before you commit. Her positive attitude and efficiency make the ordering process a pleasure and significantly enhance the overall experience. She’s a true asset to the business!

The Vibe The Ice Cream Mill exudes a clean, inviting, and charming atmosphere, creating an unpretentious vibe that prioritizes the customers and their ice cream experience.

Final Scoop:

The Ice Cream Mill excels on every front:

Top-tier Product: They offer unmatched, fresh, and scratch-made ice cream that sets them apart. Fantastic Value: High-quality ice cream at very fair prices makes it a great deal. Wonderful Service: The lovely Sophia exemplifies exceptional service, making every visit enjoyable.

As a local gem, The Ice Cream Mill delivers an exceptional ice cream experience without the premium price tag often associated with such quality. Whether you’re a Colorado Springs local or just passing through, make sure to add The Ice Cream Mill to your list. We’ll definitely be back for more, and we can’t wait to see Sophia smiling behind the counter!

Highly...

DO NOT PURCHASE A GIFT CERTIFICATE FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS A RIPOFF!! First off, I want to say that the atmosphere is super cute and welcoming, and the ice cream is so good! Here's the problem...I received a $25 gift certificate for Christmas. I went to get ice cream and my total was $8 and some change. I expected that to be deducted from the $25 card. This did not happen, and they explained to me that a gift certificate, no matter how much you pay and no matter what your total is, is only a voucher for a one-time use and that they have no way of keeping track of how much of the gift certificate you have used. I made such a fuss about it to the owner that she begrudgingly gave me some extra gift cards as my "change" and insulted the person who got me the card by saying he should have listened to her advice and got the card in smaller increments (which she actually never did explain this system to him, so that was a lie). I own a small business that uses paper gift certificates, so I see no excuse for this practice. It is stealing. I really hope she changes her policy so that more people do not get ripped off. It is a cute shop and is always busy. I would hate for this to happen to others.

*Edit: I do plan on visiting the shop again because it is a lovely shop, great atmosphere and delicious ice cream. I will just not be buying any gift...
