Overall, our large party with kids had a great experience. Eugene was a great server and very attentive and had the forethought to split our checks up early so we wouldn't have any issues at the end. Food isn't anywhere near fantastic or incredible, but you should already know that when coming to Village Inn. The food was good, just not mind-blowing (and probably never will be). No one in our party disliked anything. If I'm being picky, I might point out that the fries were kind of soggy. Fish and chips were cooked perfectly, the pancakes and waffles were all fine, and everyone loved their skillets + burrito. The front of house of the restaurant was clean (minus some crumbs on the seats that we had to wipe off) and the kitchen looked like it was clean at a passing glance. Only reason I'm going to knock a star is because the bathrooms (men's and women's - according to my wife) were both gross. For the men's bathroom, it almost seemed like someone attempted to clean them or started to clean them and then got grossed out and left. A wipe + the toilet seat covers were a must. Tl;dr: food + service are fine... clean the bathrooms more.

It seems like it wasn’t that long ago Colorado Springs had 7 or 8 Village Inns and now we’re down to just the two. Fortunately, the one on Duryea is close to our house so we still get over there a couple times a month for breakfast. They just finished a remodel and we like what they’ve done. It seems like it’s more open, with an increase in seating capacity, new tables, chairs, and booths, along with new flooring. We’ve heard some people aren’t thrilled, but we are fine with it. The food is still good, as is the service. On this visit my wife got the Country Music Star Omelette, but substituted green chili for the sausage gravy. I ordered the Ultimate Skillet with a side of green chili. We both thought our selections were very good, and the portion sizes and prices still seem reasonable. I think we’ll both be happy that we still have a Village Inn close by and that they’re trying to make it better, instead of complaining. So yeah, we’re recommending the Village Inn on Duryea!

They said it would be a 10 minute wait for seating for 15 minutes. During that time we listened to the hostess tell another party about the previous manager quitting without notice, corporate sending someone who wasn't a manager to fill in (who they said made a mess of things), then then telling about the new manager who was trying to clean up the fallout still, we could see that was still in progress. They didn't seem to have their act together yet based on how the other tables were being waited on and the unhappy family that came in before us who still hadn't been seated. We weren't willing to wait 20 minutes when we had already been there 15 and had been told 10. So in all fairness maybe when we got to a table we might have had a different experience, but the wait and the staffs' story, as well as the family telling me the bathroom wasn't very clean all added up to us walking out. I wish them the best and hope their new manager turns things around.

5 of us came to have breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were immediately seated however a different waiter (Eric) came over and asked us if we had been served yet as he saw us sitting with no drinks, not even water. He ended up getting our waitress (Alfenna) who took our order, drinks and food. We ordered 2 coffees and entrees for everyone (all adults) at 10:13. After 45 minutes of waiting, we still were waiting on coffees, let alone our food. We flagged her down since she hadn't come to check on us even once while we were waiting and she had to ask how we wanted the 2 coffees again. She then brought out the coffees and blamed the kitchen and other waiters stealing orders for the delay in our food. However, around us, Eric's tables were getting served just fine, drinks and food, yet all of our waitress Alfenna's tables were all waiting on food and she was nowhere to be seen. After waiting an hour, we flagged her down again and asked on the status of our food. She said some of it was done but not all so she was waiting for it all to be done before she brought any out. We asked for the food that was ready to be brought out instead of letting it sit and get cold which still took her 10 minutes to get. She was told she had another table that was sat behind us and acknowledged it but never went to even get their drink orders. Finally the rest of the food was brought out, though somehow it was warm, not like it had just been prepared, and then she left and disappeared into the kitchen. The table sat behind us had now been waiting about 30 minutes to even be acknowledged so we flagged Eric and told him and he took the table instead. After we paid the bill, she came back to the table and cleared all the plates - including the one which I was still obviously eating off of. Overall a very poor experience. Food was alright, probably would have tasted better if the eggs hadn't sat out and food was served hot. Just wanted to give a shout out to Eric - even though he wasn't our server he helped us and other tables that weren't his when our server was nowhere to be found. If we ever return, we will be sure to...

We tried this place because the restaurant we wanted was packed and I despise crowds. The front looked like an old restaurant like a Denny’s that was renamed. We walked in to be greeted by the our display. Oh gracious me. Lol. My inner fat girl was screaming. We noticed the place was kinda full but it was SUPER QUIET enough for me to joke with my daughter as to why. No one was at the front to seat or greet us so I assume it was based on who worked closest to the entrance. It’s still very clean. No complaints

we were seated and taken care of by Kai. She made us a fresh pot of coffee. The menu was super easy to see and understand. I got a build my own. My daughter got a smothered burrito. When the food came, someone took it upon themselves to add a order of hash browns on my plate I didn’t order. Thank you!! Lol. I looked at the clock as we had to drive to my appointment, so we smashed our food and we flagged down Kai to get a couple of slices of pie to go and our check so we can dip. We checked out immediately with her at the table. That is awesome by the way. Despite what it looks like, I am overalls pleased with the speediness of getting my food. As for taste, the biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were a little dry. Add more gravy. The smothered burrito wasn’t truly smothered. It was HUGE but the taste was bland. Maybe it was the eggs in it. Might wanna rethink the ratio of the ingredients. That can be done better. I haven’t eaten my pecan caramel something pie in a plastic container. It doesn’t look freshly baked and that crust screams store bought so I’m not getting my hopes up. Oh I had the buttermilk pancakes. We liked it! It tastes almost like IHOP except it didn’t just melt in my mouth.

Overall, because of speediness of my service, taste of my food, and my server Kai, it will remain at four stars. Thank...

We have been a long time fan of Village Inn, but the last three times the overall experience has greatly declined. This last time will the the last time at the location on Woodmen just west of Powers. The server didn’t put in our order as requested, and the food took more than 20 minutes when there was no more than 15 customers. We wanted a simple burger with just cheese and bacon, but it came with everything on it, asked for cheese fries which we got, but the cheese only covered the top six fries. It also took more than 15 minutes to get a fresh bun to replace the one with the sauce. The soup finally came half way through the meal, and had to ask for the hash browns three times which also came half way through the meal. But, the worst of it was seeing in the kitchen. The young girl had long uncovered hair which she was flipping all over the cook area, she was eating while cooking, and, standing talking more than getting the orders out. When I asked for a manager, the server said he was cooking at the moment. That just topped it knowing the manager was a part of the problem getting the food out quicker, oh, and the fries came out cold and oily. Couldn’t be more...
