Big Burger World — Restaurant in Colorado

We were in Canon City while my wife helped open up the new Natural Grocers in town. Stopped by Big Burger World, and I'm thankful I did.

While I waited for my order, I visited with Abe and he said he comes here every day they're open for lunch. That's always Tuesdays through Saturdays by the way. Closed Sundays and Monday. The big burger is wide enough to hold a dollar bill laying flat on top of the bun. I ordered the small burger, which is what you want to do, if you don't have a big appetite.

Here's why these hamburgers are the best in Colorado: grass-fed beef out of a small packer in Salida Colorado, fresh green leaf lettuce, fresh and deep red tomatoes, purple onion, and pickle. You can make it any way you want. The beef is never frozen, and put on the grill only after you order it. You can eat at picnic tables or in your car. However you eat your burger, do your best to eat there when the hamburger is just off the grill and hot. Best of all, my lunch - burger/small fry/Coke - was $10.

My wife and I are picky about where we eat, which means we don't eat out very much. However, if I lived in Canon City, I would definitely stop by here a couple of times a week. Don't pass Big Burger World...

Update to my review. This place is still amazing, and a great value. Take the whole family!

Our first time. Since we were new, they explained everything and even how to get better deals on certain combo platters. Very kind and helpful. Pretty quick service. Everything is made fresh, as they say on their sign.

Burgers are outstanding. Tons of bacon on the burger. Fried okra and fried mixed platter was delicious.... One of us is from the deep south and loves fried okra and said this is one at the top. Spicy cauliflower was delicious and the breading wasn't thick. Milkshakes were delicious. The strawberry milkshake was like a thick liquid form of Häagen-Dazs strawberry ice cream. Made with real strawberries.

The outside eating at the picnic tables isn't anything special, but actually kind of nostalgic and lots of fun. And, it was clean.

Busy place with giant burgers. If you like burgers, especially unique ones you won't see everywhere, this place is a must try. To say they are generous with their burger toppings is not even close to accurately describing the massive amounts you will get. A bacon cheese big burger will fill, not just some little girly-man flip top sandwich container, it fills an entire dinner container. It is massive! You cannot eat it with one hand. Besides the 1/2 pound of beef, it looked like it had a half pound of bacon on it too. (I am not exaggerating.) They also have a full, one pound burger. I can't imagine it....... We also got a small mushroom burger, (that is not small at all) which had a 1/4 pound patty and what looked like an almost equal amont of excellent mushrooms. What a glorious mess.
