JP's is the best local business in Rox! I grew up in the area but no longer live there. Their food and customer service have always been excellent. It's no wonder they are one of the only businesses that have been around since the shopping center opened and are still going strong.
I have a large family, and all 17 of us love to meet here from time to time. They are welcoming, even with our 7 kids, ranging from ages 5 to 14. The owners and servers are always great with the kids, who love coming here because of how nice and fun they are. Even though it's now less convenient since we no longer live nearby, we choose to give them our business because of the excellent service and quality food.
Whenever I hear of someone moving to the area or looking for a good sushi place, I always recommend JP's. It's not as expensive as places like Sushi Den but still offers high-quality sushi. The feedback I get is always positive, with people telling me they will be going back. In my opinion, and from my experience of trying other similar restaurants, JP's is far better in all aspects.
Even if you aren't a sushi person, they have a great menu with options you'll enjoy. If I'm not in the mood for sushi, my go-to is either their sesame chicken or beef lo mein. The portions are generous, and I often end up taking food home. Even when I order to-go or pick up, the food is always consistent.
Lastly, the pricing has always been fair and comparable to other Asian bistro restaurants. Before writing this review, I saw some complaints about prices being too high. I find this comical! Everything these days has become more expensive, including ingredients and business expenses. People who complain likely don't understand inflation or the current economic climate. Some reviews mention long-time customers who won't return because of price increases. To me, this is ridiculous; groceries have also become more expensive.
All in all, there is a reason JP's has been the only restaurant that has stayed in business without changing owners. They get 5 stars for their service, portions, quality, and pricing. We will always continue to support this small...
Read moreFrom someone who has been eating at this restaurant for 10 years and probably a couple dozen times... This restaurant is overrated, overpriced and food quality is mediocre at best.
This establishment has gone way downhill over the last four to five years and the prices are RIDICULOUS for the quality of food. I will not be giving this restaurant my business any longer. The majority of the dishes offer very little protein and its quality is questionable. Then the rest of the dishes are filled up with cheap ingredients like green peppers and onions and 90% of the dish is its main carbohydrate and way to much sauce to over compensate for the lack of protein.
Last night I ordered takeout. I got 2 BASIC rolls (the cheapest sushi rolls at $7.50 each and BBQ pork which is a $10 appetizer). The total was over $26... and I was still hungry... the pork was overcooked and chewy - WAY OVER PRICED. The sushi rolls were terribly assembled, each one wasn't even fully wrapped and fell apart. They barely had any rice, and they were made into 6 very large rolls instead of 8 making each roll difficult to eat. The ginger was nasty too.
The amount and quality of food that I received for a takeout order of $26 is not justified by any means. I could go to LongHorn Steakhouse and get a steak dinner for the same price. I have eaten out this restaurant At least a dozen times And the last three to four times that I've gone I've been terribly...
Read moreI first visited JP's on a whim and it quickly became my favorite Asian restaurant in the greater Denver area. I've heard colleagues cite other restaurants in Denver as the "best," but honestly I don't get it. Sushi Den, for example, seems very popular but has a menu half the size of JP's at double the price. I have not found another restaurant that offers the combination of wide selection, competitive pricing, and fresh quality that JP's offers.
I've ordered a number of sushi rolls at JP's, and they are always made fresh in-house from sushi chefs that you can watch. The presentation is nice, they include a number of ingredients in each roll (as opposed to just one or two at some other restaurants), and they all taste delicious. I've also ordered a few of their wok dishes, such as Orange Chicken and General Tso's which likewise are presented well and taste like good quality. The lunch special also includes an egg roll, wonton, AND soup, which is a great value for the price.
I regret not taking more/better photos, but did not anticipate writing a review at my time of purchase. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you are a fan of sushi or...
