It's a decent-looking bar with pool tables, a jukebox, and plenty of TVs. I found the service to be slow even though it was pretty empty. I got the wrong cheese on my burger (did not send it back because it already took a while to arrive to the table). My server also didn't take my drink order because it wasn't on the cocktail menu (which I found strange because they had a seemingly large liquor collection)... I think she didn't understand me and just asked me to pick something I could easily point to. When we left she encouraged me to get a drink next time which was weird because I DID ask for one. I thought the dress code for workers was a bit unprofessional and unkempt and I couldn't tell who was working there. One of the servers was counting her cash by the pool table and I found that inappropriate and unprofessional. No hosts welcomed us so we chose a random table and no one approached us for a while after seating. I didn't see any bussers cleaning tables or any management surveying the place. Smelled very strong of cigarettes. The server had no recommendations, which is not a good sign for the food quality.
My burger was slightly too greasy for my liking, but I enjoyed the pepper jack fried cheese sticks. I wouldn't spend the $ on fried Oreos again (good but not noteworthy). I found the meal to be mediocre at best.
If you are looking for a no-rush, less crowded bar with pool tables, diner food, young waitresses, or trivia night then this is the place for you! My friend who ate with me enjoyed her food and said she would return, especially for the...

I had a really disappointing experience at Skippy’s Sports Bar (off Iliff Ave. & Quebec St.) recently, and I feel compelled to share it.
I came in around 10 PM just to hang out with friends — I don’t even drink, I just ordered a water and some mac and cheese bites. Unfortunately, the bartender on duty, Aura, was extremely rude from the moment I interacted with her. When I told her the water tasted off and asked if I could get a new one, she told me flat-out that she didn’t care and refused to replace it. That was already surprising, but it got worse.
Aura then mocked me by imitating my laugh in a really negative and disrespectful way, all while giving me scathing looks. I was completely caught off guard — I wasn’t being rude or difficult, and I even asked her politely what I had done to upset her. Instead of explaining, she doubled down on the attitude and told me if I didn’t like it, I could leave.
This all happened in front of other patrons, and it was humiliating. I left feeling confused, embarrassed, and honestly pretty upset. I live nearby and was hoping this could be a regular hangout spot, but this experience makes me seriously reconsider coming back.
I would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with management about what happened. No one deserves to be treated like that — especially when they’re just trying to enjoy a night out...
Read moreI've been living in the area for nearly a decade now, and Skippy's is my go to spot for a quick bite, pool, and cold beers! When I first moved into the neighborhood, it was the Beaver Dam, so naturally my girlfriend and I we're like this is the place to check out to see if it's going to become the routine bar of the neighborhood. Been going ever since and it's only gotten better through the change of ownership. All of the gals working in FOH are absolute gems and are very attentive to the patrons even at the busiest of times, or when they're short staffed. If you're looking for a good place to go hang and knock one back with your friends, maybe even meet some locals, this is a great place to do so. Very affordable, lots of menu options, daily specials, and a feeling that I can't seem to put my finger on... Sometimes you want to go Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you came You want to be where you can see Our troubles are all the same You want to be where everybody...
