I never leave bad reviews, but how I was treated today warrants one. I have frequented this location for years to the point I know some of the wait staff on a first name basis, have decided to do business here after a funeral, and have had plenty of conversations with the manager. During today’s visit, I order a margarita to celebrate finishing up my senior year of college. The waitress who is serving me asks to see my ID (as she should), however, she does so with the most disrespectful attitude. I let this slide because I know I look younger than 21 and have had several wait staff surprised by my age. It’s what happens after this that was unacceptable. After 7 minutes of waiting for the drinks to be brought out, the waitress comes back out with an ID scanner and lies to me stating “this is a new policy that we have to scan ID’s”. My boyfriend then states in a polite and playful manner, “Do you actually just not believe she is over the age of 21” to which she then admits is the actual reason she came back to hassle me over my ID. The waitress clearly doesn’t know how to work the scanner because she most likely actually never follows their “policy” and really just has an issue with me looking younger than my age. All of this would have been okay if she was just honest and not rude. After she fails to correctly operate the ID scanner she asks me when I graduated high school (all while she’s still holding my perfectly legal ID). I tell her when I graduated high school and begin pulling up my online documented medical records that state my birthday but before I can show them she rudely hands me back my ID and walks off to finally make my margarita. She finally comes back with our drinks and hands me the smallest size of margarita available with barely a pinch of salt on the rim. At this point the manager recognizes our dissatisfaction with our service and we call him over. Beginning to state why we are dissatisfied, we first ask about the size of the margarita to which he replies that the size I was served is their smallest size but he then quickly changes his statement and says it’s actually the medium size (realizing that the waitress served me the smallest size because of her issue with not believing my ID is real). Before we can even begin explaining how we have been treated, the waitress interrupts our conversation with the manager and says “I gave you that size because of the time of day it is and you have to understand that” basically judging me for ordering a margarita at 2pm when 1. Her job we are paying for isn’t to question what I want to drink or give advice on my drinking habits and 2. She doesn’t know anything about me or the reasons I could be ordering a drink. I genuinely can’t even relay the sheer amount of discomfort I experienced during this whole interaction or the horrible attitude I was served with. Needless to say, we then just got the check and took our business elsewhere after I left in tears where I was then gifted a free large margarita just because of my bad experience at this place. After 4 years of coming here, they will never be getting me or any of my friends or family’s...
Read moreI don’t normally do this but here comes a rant……today some coworkers and I decided to eat lunch at Las Margaritas, at Lake of the Woods, like we have done numerous times. Normally we enjoy ourselves but today we had the WORST experience ever, which has definitely has caused us to decide to never go back. The food was fine, and our waiter was fine….BUT the constant swarming gnats were much to be desired. We dealt with it until some embedded themselves into the salad of one of the ladies I was with. When she attempted to say something about it the “manager”, Angelic Lopez (and I apologize if this is not correct spelling) rudely informed us that yes, they were aware of the problem but it was not their fault. Angelic advised us that she guessed the salad could be free of charge. Thank you for such kindness. Then, if that was not enough another lady had an issue with her bill. She had ordered the lunch fajitas but only wanted the meat and veggies. The ticket was written like it was a special order and cost her more than the lunch fajitas. Again, we got the pleasure of the rudeness of Angelic. She informed us that if she had wanted a lesser price she should have ordered the lunch fajitas and told them she did not want all the sides. Huh??? Isn’t that the same as lunch fajitas but only wanting the meat and veggies? She then proceeded to address us ALL at the table and said….if it was too expensive for us to eat there maybe we shouldn’t!!!! Excuse me? Really?? Who taught you customer service because you are seriously lacking!! If the goal was to lose 4 customers you did it right!! And we will make sure our friends and family...
Read moreThe food was good. The customer service was poor. I had a take out order. When I made it home, the order was incorrect. We are all human and make mistakes from time to time. I was not mad about the mistake. I called and explained what happened. He said "the waiter said that's not what you ordered". I said "I'm not looking for an argument, I would just like to exchange the food for the correct order please". We agreed that I could make the exchange. I drove up to the restaurant and as soon I entered I was greeted by the waiter. He said "You made a mistake when you ordered". I said "I read the request from my phone". I showed him the text message. He looked at me and said "well you need to learn how to read then because that's not what you said". I said "I am not looking to argue, I would just like to exchange the order". He said "you need to learn to read and order the correct food. I have to pay for the order because you made a mistake". He proceeded to grab the bag out of my hand. I was embarrassed and angry. I spent almost 40 dollars on food and a tip. I never once was rude or disrespectful. That is not acceptable service. I have supported this company for many years but I will...
