First Watch — Restaurant in Columbia

First Watch has gone above and beyond what I expected. The open and airy restaurant is so clean and just beautiful. The menu is easy to understand with something delicious for everyone’s taste. We started with coffee and went to water. As lovely as our waitress, Michelle, is it was a treat to have our own carafe of coffee with us at the table; the water was served upon request in a nostalgic heavy glass milk bottle, cold and clear. The waffle sweet airy and made with real butter, the sausage very pleasing. The greens were lightly sprinkled with an oil vinaigrette, while the layers of fresh flavor in my Chili Chorizo omelette just made me smile. The multigrain toast was my favorite. I will say this as I said to the hostess “the cook must be happy because the food was wonderful and I’m feeling good”...

Columbia, you have something great in store here! And, it's a sign that Columbia is already a great investment!

Great food, welcoming aesthetic, and plenty big enough to seat you without much wait.

I've been to several different locations with this one being the newest and probably best. Everything tasted great, and service was quite good, although can get a little behind. Still they care.

My only real gripe is that the interior designer neglected one major aspect of a well-designed space: acoustic absorption. This place is LOUD! It's even hard to hear the music over increasingly louder conversations when busy.

Integrating ceiling-hanging, downward-facing 2'x4' acoustic panels 4" thick in every 9 square yards would do wonders to cut down on how cavernous this one large...

Lots of fancy breakfast options. Good atmosphere, although the music is a little loud for my taste. Fantastic service. Our server really couldn't be improved upon. She did a great job! Definitely not a place for a "regular" breakfast. I just wanted four eggs, no toast, no meat, and a cup of decaf. And that ended up being 13.70 plus tip. That said, if you are looking for something a little more upscale and creative, I don't think the price es are necessarily out of line for that. I just didn't know what it would be; from the name I thought maybe it was something for cops and firemen, etc. LOL at myself for that. So if you're familiar with local places, probably about in the price range of Puckett's, but service was better at First Watch than I have...
