This morning we returned to what would've normally been a 4.5 - 5 star review from me.

We arrived 10:20. Departed 12:21.

This gave us plenty of time to catch up with old friends and get to know the comings and goings of a few locals. Plus time to stretch our legs in the waiting area due to our 6 mile trip from the Air Bnb.

Eventually the spare seating area opened up and we then relaxed and had about 30 minutes to review menus or take in the architecture of the old farmhouse this establishment was in.

Once seated, we had an additional 8 minutes to think about what we wanted to eat and once presented with menus at the table they kindly gave us an additional 15 minutes to review the menus.

Once our first cup of coffee was completed we were able to place an order. That gave us enough time to finish another cup before the food arrived.

Service was wonderful. The waitress would run right over immediately after being summoned to refill our cups. Sort of like when your comfortable in your recliner at home and your spouse is up and headed to the kitchen. I mean, if its not too much trouble could you get me a refill sort of thing. It really made you feel right at home. Because your spouse is not really watching your glass but they don't hesitate to help you out.

So all the food hits the table at about the same time. Except one plate has the incorrect order. So rather than wait another 40-45 minutes they didn't hesitate to take it off my bill and honestly it saved my diet anyway. Being this was really a "want" and not a "need", I had my protein shakes and fried pies that make a king an honest breakfast anyway.

So there you have it. If you have about 2 hours to kill and it's mid morning, you could really just order lunch and it will be hot and ready by then. Then factor in that 75% of the order will be correct, that's a pretty high mark in today's experience.

So that's like a 3.75 right? If you factor back in that my coffee was actually good, three cups and was now free, this might make it a subjective 4.1. Plus, they inadvertently helped me preserve my diet, I'll add a little more for a solid 4.3.

Oh... and didn't require a tip. So even more savings in...

Our first experience was last year, and it was really good. But the past 3 times, yes we came back 3 times, the experience was not a good one. For starters, the tables were dirty. They had been wiped down, but they were not cleaned and the table was still wet, which was gross. The dishes and silverware were filthy! I was shocked that they willingly served food on them! The pancakes tasted weird and one of the pieces of bacon had a rotten fish taste, which I spit out immediately! The prices are completely outrageous for what you get! You will spend nearly $40 for 2 people!!! It is a rip off! And get this....the syrup doesnt even come close to being syrup! It is served in a squeeze bottle, and they must have watered it down. I tasted the syrup by itself, and it tasted cheap and watered down. As far as the service, they are super friendly, which may have contributed to us returning. Plus, there isn't any nice sit down places, so you're left with fast food restaurants. We both agreed we would have been better off driving thru McDonalds, and saved ourselves the grief! I get that people sometimes have an off day, but this place has had an off year! Enter at your own risk, but don't think you...

Katiepies is hands down the best breakfast spot in the Spring Hill/Columbia area. A true diner which I feel we greatly lack. Its nice to have a place that is not a chain to enjoy unique recipes. Katie has the absolute best customer service anywhere I have been in this area. She handles the place well and her personality is so genuine you can't help but enjoy coming here and talking to her. I come here mostly for breakfast because the Hillbilly Benedict is simply delicious. The homemade gravy is not easy to top. Home fries are always consistent with a nice crispy fry on the outside and a nice soft inside. For a a little twist I recommend getting the potato cakes at least once, you won't be disappointed. Lunch is real great too, my wife and I have had various sandwiches and have been content with them all. Lastly, coconut cream pie. Do yourself a FLAVOR and...

What an amazing restaurant Google led my mom and I to this morning. When we go to Columbia we always go to Waffle House so today we decided to try something different. So I searched for breakfast near us and Katie Pie and Sons Country Kitchen popped up. All it took was one look at their menu. I am so so so happy we went bc we had the best breakfast! Everything we had down to the coffee was delicious. I will drive to Columbia just to eat here. It is hands down 1 of the best breakfast/lunch places we have been to in a long time. Not only is the food and service amazing the place itself is stunning.
