Fun place for the family. When you walk through the door, the experience begins. As you turn to your left, you peer this a large window to watch the create staff prepare the dough. There are a couple of steps that span the window in front of you where the kids can watch the dough preparation action also. With little fanfare, a round ball of uncooked dough comes flying over the viewing window to land on a ledge for the kids to grab and knead, just like the working occupants on the other side, or the kids can throw at their siblings. While the kids are being entertained, you step up to the ordering stations, and are meet with a friendly pizza expert that will try and meet all the your culinary desires possible. The same expert handling your order, will hand you plastic glasses emblazoned with stuff to read about Shakespeare's other locations in town and how long they have been throwing dough over the window. Stepping into the dining room to gather eating utensils, disk towel sized napkins, straws, and filling your glasses with beverage, you enter the bare floor realm of red colored booths, and long tables, scattered throughout the pizza mecca. I won't mention the assorted games area where laughter flows, along with the dimes, quarters, and excitement. Make it a...
Read moreMy wife kids and I stopped in on a Saturday bout 130 or two place wasn't real busy. We stood in line which was one guy in front of us who had already ordered. Finally a younger girl came up to help the guy working up front. As I started placing our order she asked if we had masks. My wife and kids put there's on. Then she asked if I had one to which I said No. She asked if I'd like one, and I said No. Before I could say anything else she said then We cant serve you. First off. HIPPA is a thing. Second off if this place doesnt want my money that is fine a family of six paying cash is thier loss. We are in Columbia every weekend and have never had a problem anywhere. From food, to fuel, to shopping. Maybe some better training for employees is needed. Thought because of the reviews we were in for a great experience. Apparently not. Good thing competition is more professional and...
Read moreIf you come to Columbia, Mo, Shakespeare's is a local must visit. This is one of three locations. The original is downtown, but has been rebuilt. This location has the best for group meetings with the large meeting rooms. Kids can get a free ball of dough to play with as they enter the restaurant. Instead of paper napkins they give you a red hand towel. If you order a soda you get a souvenir cup to take home. They have only two sizes of cups; kids and adult. Pizzas have unique names. The crust is thick. The bottom of the crust is pretty rough due to the cornmeal the crust is laid on to cook. I love pizza, but this is not my favorite. 3 stars is not due to service or location. It is because I don't think the pizza is that good for the price. Pizza is loaded with toppings and one or two slices could fill you up. Shakespeare's does tons of fundraisers for local schools, sports...
