Went there tonight with my wife. Made a reservation on a Saturday night for the hibachi grill. Wife wanted to sit at a booth and order sushi and hibachi. They asked if we were sure as the price of the performance is included in the hibachi price. We were cool with that. Got the chicken hibachi. The chicken was slightly overcooked but still very good. We got all the sauces we asked for along with our sushi for no charge! ! Teriyaki. Ponsu. Sure, no problem. My wife really likes the ginger house dressing as a dip for her sushi. All no charge. The sushi was delicious. Got sashimi mackerel, salmon and bonito. California roll, futomaki, Rainbow (creamy and very large! !), crunch roll, Philly roll, double crunch roll, Nick roll. All the sushi tasted fresh and was generous portion sizes. We ended the night with a mochi cake and I can't say enough good things about that, it was small and expensive for the size (golf ball size $3) but the perfect refreshing dessert ender for a special evening even though we felt full after eating less than half of what was listed. I recommend the mango and ask for a side of whipped cream to go with it! ! HIROMI was our waitress and was amazing. Professional, friendly, there exactly when we didn't even know we needed her. Extremely attentive and an overall delight! ! All told it added up to $137.00 with all that and 2 soft drinks, and a 10 oz sake.... Well worth it! ! I love how quaint, clean and very relaxing ambiance. Hibachi grill wasn't loud enough to drown out a relaxing atmosphere in the rest of the dining areas. They also appeared to have a Japanese party room reminiscent of party rooms I've seen in Japan. Very impressed with this gem in Columbia. It's not on a main drag and sort of tucked away making it even cooler. I've been here twice and loved...
Read moreI’m a customer who prior to to my experience yesterday would have given 3 stars. I’m a sushi lover. The food is decent here not the best but I know what I’m getting. The service is normally good as well. However the service and food were so poor I can’t even fathom more than one star. Shortly after ordering food the waitress brings out something we didn’t order and leaves the table without waiting for us to tell her. Upon getting back with our drinks we tell her that food isn’t ours then watch her pick the food up off our table and deliver it to another table. I’ve worked food service. This is a big no no even without COVID-19 concerns. We then tell the table that food had been on our table prior to them getting it. They had NO idea. Then our sushi comes out. We try one roll each. The spicy Mayo was bad. It was watery with an off putting taste. So we send it back. By now we are done so we ask for the bill. The waitress brings the bill and makes a big deal about how she discounted us. Long story short she gave us $1 off each roll...we bought 3 of their most expensive rolls—one hadn’t even made it to our table. We weren’t asking for free food or a discount. Why discount a $20 roll a $1? We tell the manager about our disappointing service and subpar food. Mind you after we paid the bill because the bill isn’t the issue. The food and service were the issue. He says “Okay.” I’ve worked food service so I’m pretty forgiving. This was one of the worst experiences Ive ever had eating out. So if you want food that’s been on others tables prior to coming to yours or potential sickness from bad...
Read moreI have been going to Osaka for almost 20 years (since 2006!) and go fairly regularly with my family now. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Some recognize us and know the little nuances like I like a side of spicy mayo with my food, or my daughter likes the chopstick helper. We usually order a tiger roll, sometimes a Big O roll, Jalapeño roll with substitutions that they are always great at accommodating, cucumber rolls with soy paper for the kids (another modification), salads (we LOVE the dressing!), miso soup, gyoza, edamame, sometimes fried rice, Japanese sodas, green tea. We have also had their firecracker and volcano rolls and crab Rangoons. We have yet to try something we haven't enjoyed! Everything is so good. They also have a bean sprout salad they start dinner with that tastes AMAZING! I have tried to replicate the dressing at home, but have never been successful. They recently remodeled their dining area with new booths and tables/chairs. Everything looks really nice and clean. Osaka was our favorite place to get hibachi (like the fun cooked in front of you kind) and we really miss that since they changed it to BBQ. We are disappointed with the other hibachi options in town, so that has become a treat when traveling only. We haven't tried the BBQ yet, maybe we will someday. Osaka is definitely in our favorite restaurant rotation! We have also gotten it delivered through Grubhub in the past, or for pick up orders, and it has always been fresh...
