Sweet GG's Bakery — Restaurant in Columbia

I’m out of state. After looking at many bakeries in the Columbia SC area and reading people’s reviews I chose Sweet GG’s bakery. For my daughter's 18th birthday while she’s attending USC in Columbia. I contacted the bakery through their website and I received a response from Nayo right away. Nayo responded to all my emails right away and was very professional, helpful and kind. She made a beautiful cake for my daughter's big day and she was very happy. The decorations we had chosen were beautifully done, there was edible glitter all over the cake and the way the color came out tied it all together. We ordered a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, the cake was super moist even after sitting for a couple of hours in the fridge. The frosting also wasn’t too sweet and overpowering. This place is a little gem that is tucked away in 5 points, downtown Columbia SC. I happened on this place by chance. Every single time I visit here there is always something different and her baked goods are always fresh and tasty! But heads up, you have to get there early because she tends to sell out fast!! She is open Thursday- Saturday and some Sundays. The owner is super sweet and accommodating. I asked her about a flavor and she made sure to give it a try! Thankfully it was a hit, so now she keeps it in rotation with her other “regular” flavors. She has cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, brownies, cookies and cake slices. Today was customer appreciation day. Black-owned hidden gem! The cakes are fresh and delicious. You can tell that they are made fresh with the best ingredients. It is refreshing to taste desserts that feel like home. We tried the cookies and cupcakes. The red velvet was my favorite 😍.

This place is next door to another dessert place that specializes in cookies. I am so glad we chose this one. The cookies were slamming, too!

The service was excellent. The bakery is clean and organized. We were given details about their assortment of desserts. They had puddings, cakes, cookies, and everything! It's located near plenty of shopping and has easy access with metered parking right in front. The parking is cheap. One quarter allowed for 20 minutes of browsing.
