Small park, few people in the afternoon, children like to play with sand, there are swings, slides suitable for children of different ages. The basketball court is free. There is a small stream.

Participated in a 5k run for MLK Day. I've been back to the park several times sense then. The park area is nice and the gym is good as well.

Despite it's closeproximity to 2 of the city's most unpredictable areas, in regards to crime and just all around shenanigans, this park is pretty chill. I have gone here many times seeking peace and quiet or time to sit and chat with a friend, and easily found it. There are several places by the small stream that flows through that offer some solitude, shade, and the soothing sound of flowing water. The fountain is pretty impressive, as are the other tributes to the park's namesake. The gymnasium has a lot to offer, as well. I think it and the park are a tribute to the...

I feel I am in one of the safest places I could be when I visit this - indoor AND outdoor South Carolina & American park. To be specific: whenever I am In the city of Columbia and especially near the historical district of 5 points; I feel the most safe here (MLK park.) Thank y'all for your service! Those who visit the park's grounds & indoor facilty AND those who work maintaining the grounds AND the indoor facility and all it's operations (24/7 sometimes ; ) I didn't do much college for any who may...

This park does improve so much over the last 20 years. The city has established the creek with a larger wetland threshold now to mitigate the flooding problems in Neighboring 5 points. Boardwalks and overlooks now run along the newly-formed wetlands. Plus there is a beautiful Martin Luther King fountain and memorial. The community center with a gym also exists here along with a community garden and a...
