El Mezcal — Restaurant in Columbus

We have visited this restaurant many times before, but tonight was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, we were told the only available seating was at the bar-style tables. We agreed, thinking it would still be comfortable. However, before ordering anything, we changed our minds and politely asked if we could be moved to a regular table.

Instead of handling this request kindly, a staff member approached us with a noticeably hostile attitude, asking if we wanted to change. When we said yes, another employee (usually the one who handles payments) made a sarcastic remark out loud, saying “that’s why we ask first,” as if we had done something wrong. When my husband asked what he meant, the employee claimed he was talking to the hostess leading us to the new table.

This entire situation was uncomfortable and unnecessary. We only asked for a simple change of table, but the staff reacted as if we were offending them. My husband even asked if it was really such a problem to switch tables. As paying customers, we come here to enjoy our time, not to feel like a burden. Nothing is free—we always pay for our meals and tip generously. Tonight, the staff’s rude and dismissive attitude completely ruined...

Walked in on Father’s Day just today. They sat my husband, daughter, and myself in a corner booth. Got there at 1:25 per our Life 360. We ended up leaving at 1:45 due to not being acknowledged or an asked for a drink order. It was at medium capacity. Manager was over cleaning tables as well as sweeping next to us, and the waiter that was waiting on a table next to us, didn’t ask if anyone had been with us or anything. He was also over there multiple times as well. That place needs teamwork- I think our guy was out for an extended smoke break. The free chips and salsa were good though. Went field dinner at 5:30 pm. Place was not busy yet. We waited 30 minutes and still no one brought water or took our order. I flagged down someone else's waitress to take our order finally. Took 15 minutes for our order(which still wasn't brought by our waitress). After we finished eating had to wait another 30 minutes for our check and to go container. By this time again I had to flag someone down agian!!!! Explained to the managers wife the issue with service and only apology I got was, "I'm sorry she new." We will not...
