First, I’m not affiliated with any part of the restaurant or food industry.
I was very surprised at how disappointing this restaurant was after reading the reviews. I love Thai food. One of my all time favorite Thai dishes is drunken noodle, which is what I ordered.
The service was very good. The wait staff was attentive and fast.
Unfortunately, the drunken noodle was terrible. The noodles were overcooked and swimming in a sauce that looked and tasted like it came out of a jar. Normally, the sauce is added as the noodles are fried and it is absorbed into the noodles. The result is a flavorful dish with the noodles lightly coated in oil with pieces of the peppers, spices, and pieces of Thai basil with various vegetables.
This was more like a curry where the noodles were sitting in a puddle of a less than mediocre brown sauce. Also, there were almost no vegetables at all, hardly any pieces of chicken, and one single small piece of Thai basil.
I will not go back.
I have not tried all the Thai restaurants in Columbus, yet…. However, for drunken noodle fans, I would highly recommend Thai & Thai. The price point is the same and the food quality is not...
Read moreWe used to love this place, but this most recent visit was a bit of a disappointment. The service is friendly (5 stars there) and the food had good flavor. But they were not consistent. The Tom Kha was good, but the "house broths" were all varying levels of flavor, some having little flavor at all and others having robust flavor. Two people got green curry; one at spice level 2, the other at spice level 1 (which we were told was Sriracha-level spice). It was not... It was so much hotter. (And I love Sriracha.) They had to actually take that one back and add more coconut milk to it to tone it down. And speaking of coconut milk, both green curries had obviously been cooked too hot because the coconut milk had separated in both. (We have cooked Thai food at home, so we know what that looks like.) The rice dishes other people ordered were good. And the noodle dishes were good as well. I don't know if it was just an off night or what, but I'd be willing to try it again and hopefully the curries will be more consistent like...
Read moreWe gave this place a try last night. It was a little disappointing since it does have such a high rating. We expected more. My sons each had an order of the Thai fried rice and they liked their meal. My husband had the curry fried rice and said it was just okay. My daughter had the red curry with squid and I ordered chicken Pad Thai. My daughters red curry with squid was actually good. It was heavy on the green beans so she picked a good number of them out. However, the Pad Thai was disappointing. My chicken was dry and there was zero heat in my dish. It did have a nice flavor but definitely needed heat. We also ordered the coconut sticky rice with black beans and it was good. We are a family of 5 so we know how expensive it is to eat out; so when we do, we want good food. The restaurant was clean and the person was friendly. We did order our food to go. Some dishes were better than others. Everything was hot when we got it home. It wasn’t the best and definitely wasn’t the worst....
