I am updating my rating. After reading my review Colt at Golden Donuts was genuinely concerned about my disappointment and reached out. Though I was unable to reach Colt I did go to Golden Donuts and they had fresh and ready maple donuts. Thank you for taking care of me Colt. I am a happy customer that will be returning.
So disappointed with this business. I like to support small business but in the case I have to speak out. Golden Donuts rolled out their new maple frosted bacon donuts. I love maple! I was originally told I could get a maple donut, bacon free, because due to health reasons I can not eat bacon or the remnants of bacon grease. I was told, by, I believe, the owner. I called last night, Friday, December 17, 2021, and was told all that I would need to do is to call and place an order for donuts with a maple glaze only. I called this morning, Saturday, December 18, 2021, and was told that I may not order them this way because it slowed down their production time. I told her what I was told last night and she said that he, the person I spoke to on December 17, was wrong and that they would not do a special order for me. On December 17 the male employee that answered my call was so kind and explained to me how the process of glazing them without crumbled bacon was easy to make and that he wanted to keep a customer happy. Happy? Disappointed is more like it. It is so frustrating! I can not and will not make it a priority to go through a small business. At least at Dunkin’ Donut I get a maple glazed donut...
Read moreI edited this review to note that I have since returned to Golden Donuts. The maple donuts were awesome! So fresh and tasty. It was a great blend of maple frosting and donut. I will continue purchasing maple donuts through them. It is also rare that a business will reach out and offer a genuine and sincere response:
that I remember the pre-Covid Golden Donut and it was one of the best donut places I have ever had. I was so excited when they re-opened! I was soon greatly disappointed though. The donuts did not taste the same. It was edible but it no longer surpassed Dunkin’ Donuts-which I don’t really care for, and Krispy Kreme. I asked if at some point could Golden Doughnuts add maple glazing to their donuts. I had such high hopes! I went all of the way out there to find out the only way I can get a maple donut is to have it mixed with bacon. I can not have bacon due to dietary needs. I can’t tell if it is because a person doesn’t want to have extra work of mixing bacon and glaze separately or if Golden Donut does not think there are customers out here that don’t want bacon. I guess it is back to Dunkin’ Donut because at least I get...
Read moreWords cannot express how legitimately disappointed I am right now. We come to columbus every year. Golden donut has been an annual staple in our lives for 10 years. Every year we order a dozen original glazed. They were always smoking hot and fresh. This was unequivocally my favorite donut place. Key word, was. The experience I just had changed my mind. We were barred from entry, being rudely waved away by an employee wielding a broom. Once we finally did get our donuts, they were the opposite of the golden standard we had come to expect. Hot, fresh, and made with love turned to cold, old, and brewed with hate. What was once a flavorfull, delicous donut experience turned into a overcooked, underglazed nightmare. The employee who served us our donuts claimed that there were limited options, despite the full display case with donuts galore revealing itself once we pulled away. His nonchalant attitude rubbed salt in the wound of our experience. "Golden Donut" has fallen to...
