Mountain View BBQ & Deli — Restaurant in Columbus

Purchased from this food truck on 7/27/23 while @ SRMC. I was so disappointed in the food. I called back and asked for a refund around 1:30pm. The truck was set to leave at 2pm. I called the restaurant spoke with a CSR who stated he would call me back. Note:He never called! I called back to the restaurant and was told he’d be there on Thursday if I wanted to get a refund. Advised the CSR that I was visiting the area and I work M-F. She offered to mail a check. I provided her the name of my mom and address. 12 days later and the check still hasn’t arrived. I chose not to list names of the individuals though I have them written down. All I wanted was a refund for the disgusting food! Paying over $30 for food that was not temperature controlled as it should’ve been. Old dried up Mac and cheese, Ex fatty wings((with a pork taste)) the potatoe salad was a disgusting joke! The Mac and cheese tasted like flour. I believe in supporting any business. I was truly disgusted and should’ve made a better selection after the reviews. I believe in business having a off day. Lesson learned for sure.

Update: In response to the owners response I want to clarify that I did receive a check for much less than I paid for the horrible food. I was never offered another meal, the food truck was already gone! Meanwhile you are right I expose bad businesses more than the great businesses. I’ll do better because I’ve eaten all across the world and the food is great most times! Deceitful business practice always back fire. Took you over 30 days to respond huh and you tell a lie instead of apologizing. You all treated me like trash and have the audacity to lie on a review I made....

So I have had there food several times both in store dine in as well as their food truck. The prices are fair and perfectly in line with other BBQ places regionally. The portions are generous especially at the price point. The store and the dining room were quite nice they were clean the staff was courteous and helpful. If I had to have a reason to nitpick because I did give four stars and not five The brisket plates had an excessive amount of fat in my opinion I understand that brisket is a fatty cut of meat but I also know from cooking myself there are ways to trim some of this fat and I found what was put in the plate in the cutting and serving was just too much and the brisket itself was swimming in a rather plentiful pool of grease and fat as well and so I wish a little more attention was paid to trimming their briskets before cooking and also a little bit of attention to when they're cutting the brisket up for serving and being mindful of that. As for the taste of the food and the flavors of their sauces they're very good you will find that their food is not overspiced or over salted and I really appreciate that because some people have blood pressure or they may be don't consume a large amount of spice or sauce and if you really want to zing it up a bit just ask for the extra sauce and add that yourself after the fact and all is well. I will return again I would recommend anybody in the area if you're hungry for some barbecue and you're in the Columbus trial area definitely step in the mountain view you won't go wrong it is good barbecue and it's a fair price with...

In 2018 Yonder Luxury Vacation Rentals expanded to the Tryon, NC area with our business. That expansion included learning about all the restaurants in the area, and of course, visiting and trying them all out. Since our first visit that year, Mountain View BBQ has been a favorite of our team, and a part of our referral list for our Yonder guests. In that light I am a little embarrassed that I neglected to post a glowing review until now. (Apologies Mt View family!) Our favorites have always been the brisket and pulled chicken, along with the wide array of side dish choices. So those are our go-to almost every time. Living in Asheville/WNC, we have a wide array of BBQ choices, and for a long time, (since they opened), my favorite ribs, hands-down, has always been 12-Bones. However, this week, for the first time, I decided to order the ribs at Mountain View. Suffice to say, OMG!!!! I now have a new ribs favorite in WNC!! The ribs are not dressed in any sauce, which I was concerned about, but they are so well slow-cooked, tender and juicy, to the point that they melt off the bone! You can get your choice of 4 BBQ sauces, so adding the flavor you desire is easy and it works! I encourage anyone in the Tryon, NC area to stop in to Mountain View BBQ. It is a small, family owned business, with friendly and quick service. You will love anything you order, and you will absolutely want to come back!
