I want to sincerely thank Tamera, a Food Lion employee, who assisted me a few weeks back. I am truly so appreciative of Tamera assisting me both inside the store as well as back to my car, opening my hatch, placing the plants and groceries into my car & helping me manage my pup in tow as well. I have a debilitating terminal disease, Tamera was exceptional both in her understanding of my severe physical limitations as well as her compassion and kindness in what was a truly difficult day for me.
It is exactly this kind of outstanding professionalism I see every time I shop at the Food Lion branch location in Columbus, NC. I’ve written so many employees and managers’ names down and am truly grateful to be able to finally write this review. Brava and bravo to you all!
I’ve actually wondered, as u all seem to know me when I walk in, the warm recognition, and consistently I’ve been so well assisted or if looking bewildered, there is someone there, in any aisle, willing to help. I used to shop at a different grocer, tho for the last year, I’m returning to Food Lion solely, because of this remarkable team and the effort I see not a singular gesture just to me, far from it, I’ve seen the same kindnesses & professional above and beyond qualities extend to all customer interactions.
Many thanks to you, Tamera, you really made a tough day easier, and I extend this appreciation to all of you working at the Food Lion Columbus branch, you’ve so much to be proud of, you are all truly wonderful people. I love as well, whenever shopping, everyone smiles and even at rush hours, not one employee looks pressured. Things flow with a grace & style so I do hope Food Lion will recognize this branch, all of you are winners and I hope will be commended. With sincere...
Read moreI used to love this store. But not anymore. They have now converted most of the handicap parking spots to those online order and pick up spots. Parking is very difficult now, especially for handicapped people. During my last visit I had not only one, but three encounters with very rude employees. First I got pushed aside by an employee who thought his time was more valuable then mine and he needed to push these carts through right where I was standing or else. Second I was in line at an register and watched the cashier ring up a customer in front of me for about 10 minutes. 5 items were rung up during this time and the rest was chatting and lolligagging. I moved over to another lane, stood there for a minute and then the employee cut the light, told me to shove off, since she was planning to close the register. I left the store without my groceries. I would have used a self checkout to speed things up, but this store does not have one. All employees in the store looked angry and overworked. Not a single smile from anybody. What a change...
Read moreI live in Landrum and routinely bypass Ingles and make the drive to Food Lion because the prices are comparatively better, especially with a discount card. The routine turnover of cashiers at this store confused me at first, but after witnessing the same front end manager talking down to her underlings on at least two occasions, I think I get it now. (lady with the blonde hair - Jessica I think) This happened within range of me and my kids, and after the second time it happened I spent the ride home using it as an example of how to NOT speak to others and the importance of kindness. The newer cashiers are way more friendly than the ones who worked here when I first started coming and it will be a shame to see them driven out by what appears to be childish communication skills and bullying. They take good care of customers and the prices are low but that's not enough if they're also not treating their employees with respect - especially in the presence...
