Columbus Inn and Suites — Hotel in Columbus

This is the trashiest motel I’ve ever stayed in!! Since they are only motel in town they have really high prices for the cheapest room you could stay in.They beat on everyone’s door at 9 am to check the room to make sure you didn’t damage it and can stay again!!!??? Check out is at 11. They took my fan out of my room and said it was in laundry. My fan was in the drawer. It was all I left because I knew I needed it to sleep. Then they said lost and found. But patrons can’t get to this “lost and found” the staff does. If I had said nothing they were glad to keep the fan. We were booked and did not book out while my belonging was removed!!! If you are looking for a place to stay that’s decent —THIS ISN’T IT! The beds are cots!!!!!! With a kind of headboard attached to wall but bed not attached.Smoke burns in one bedroom took pics of over 30!!! This hotel is beat up nasty. It’s nice looking rooms till you get in there and look. There is no noise to cover the highway traffic!!! The air unit won’t stay on no matter what. The bathroom fan barely makes noise and it can’t really work. They are trying to act fancy because of tryon horse shows. If you trying to find a place to stay pass this exit and drive to upward exit. It has more choices and you will not find this 0 star trash motels there. It was so saddening to see that our beautiful Columbus NC has a sickening problem at its only motel. The room down from ours had some people talking about buying crack cocaine. And came back and went in room. And was out before the 9am wake up call. Which would only go on at a dope motel. The manager or son of owner was nice and tried to yell at the staff in front of us. Over the stealing and waking up. Tried to tell me my fan got picked up by accident in the laundry. How a fan jumps out of a drawer and into laundry means someone has sticky fingers. We left immediately when we were going g to stay longer. I would not stay there again unless it’s rebuilt with new owners. Its owners must live there and the staff. I would never even stay there for free to be treated like trash again by the cleaning staff. We were treated like the trash that they are used to staying there apparently. Until we called police. Do not stay here if you can help it!!! You will likely regret staying like I do. Don’t matter who you are or what you drive” you wake up 9am we check room now!” And since this was never explained to us and is not on the brochure they give you. We were pissed. We got out of room and sat there for 2 hours waiting on the cleaning staff to come check room so we could get our deposit back. They passed us 3 times and we had to wait because we didn’t know to jump when they said. Because they woke us beating on the door!!!! Scared the crap out of me. Who keeps staff that is gonna make people wait more than 2 hours just to get to leave???!!!! Most people probably just leave and let them keep deposit. Well they weren’t getting mine so had to wait. Do not stay here if you looking for nice or decent. This place will piss you off when you see how it is truly. They just changed name to try and bring in more tryon people. Used to be a Days inn. It’s way worse than any days inn I’ve ever stayed at!! Like this place was probably nice when it was built 30 or 40 years ago. But now everything in it is cheap broken and burned. The toilet had been broken and they just glued the huge chunk back on?? Stay away if looking for a place to rest for your moneys worth. Check upward rd exit in Hendersonville. Nice places to...

DISCLAIMER: like every comment, this is just my opinion. I would encourage everyone to read other comments to form a better decision when deciding to stay here.

I’m providing one star because when I think of hotels, I believe service and hospitality are two of the most important cores/pillars to any hotel business. This business in particular did not uphold these cores. When I walked into my room, it was extremely warm, and I discovered the AC was off. I understand from a cost efficiency perspective why they wouldn’t leave it on, but it was not a welcoming or an inviting feeling. Secondly, the room reeked of smoke, and I started to get a headache after five minutes being in the room. This was partially my fault…when booking, I didn’t select “non-smoking,” but I also wasn’t given an option to select a preference. Thirdly, when I walked into the bathroom, I noticed a maroon-colored liquid streak/line on the bathtub wall, which appeared to have dried. The top of the tub was also dirty (photos attached). When I called the front desk to request housekeeping to clean the bathtub (not knowing if the liquid streak was shampoo or bodily fluid), the employee said housekeeping would do it the next day. When I told him I didn’t feel comfortable showering in a dirty bathtub with an unknown substance in it, and asked if he could clean it, he simply said again that housekeeping would do it tomorrow. I left the room, and went to the front desk, and told the employee to cancel the reservation due to the aforementioned reasons. The employee was not sympathetic, and did not even offer to switch rooms. Not that “professionalism” is an application requirement for hotel employees, it is a business value that all should embrace, especially when your business is defined by service and hospitality. Based on this experience, I don’t think this hotel came close to reflecting...

Sleeping Beauty Woke Up Screaming: A Nightmare on Mattress Avenue at the Columbus Inn!

The bedroom looks clean, but when you spend more than five minutes in the room it's like a horror flick the moment we touched the supposed "king-size" bed.

“The Mystery Stains” The sheets weren't just rumpled, they were contorted into a landscape of suspicious brown and yellow blotches. I don't even want to speculate on their origin.

This would have been fine in some cases because it was “cheap” but the aftermath was terrible. My partner had to go to the doctor because she broke out in something mysterious, we have never had this problem so we know it came from here.

It could have also been mold because the room was absolutely freezing, it took forever for it to warm up, the only thing is when you take the “man poop” it can be great for your wife because you will be freezing the whole time, the whole room doesn't get hot.

The Verdict: The Nightmare Inn might have a fancy lobby and a charming concierge, but it's built on a foundation of dirty deception. This is not a place for romance, relaxation, or anything remotely resembling hygiene. Stay far, far away, unless you're looking for a starring role in your own personal horror film.
