Typically, I’m not a fan of Asian cuisine, but Nong’s Hunan Express changed my mind with their exceptional fried rice. This dish alone was enough to impress with its perfect blend of flavors and textures, making every bite memorable. The menu, as captured in the photos, offers a variety of traditional and modern dishes that seem inviting, even to someone with a cautious palate like mine.
The restaurant displays its offerings on a comprehensive menu that includes everything from Lo Mein Noodles to Chef Specials, each described in detail, providing a clear picture of what to expect. The interior of Nong’s features charming decorations like the Maneki-neko cats, which add a touch of cultural authenticity and warmth to the dining experience. These iconic figurines are not just decor but are believed to bring good luck, enhancing the welcoming ambiance.
Moreover, the vibrant pictures of the food displayed over the counter promise delicious meals and seem to validate the quality and appeal of their dishes. Whether you’re a fan of Asian food or an occasional adventurer like myself, Nong’s Hunan Express seems to have something to delight various tastes.

The interior has been redone so it looks different.
I opted for a lunch special with curry chicken spicy. All the ingredients were very fresh and the food was very tasty, I really enjoyed my curry chicken.
I took a combo and I chose an egg roll, something I'm usually not super excited about, but, I really enjoyed this one. The thing that really helped was that they have a very good mustard and a very good sweet sauce with it. My wife's favorite Chinese restaurant uses pre-packaged mustard and sweet sauce that are not very good. You won't see that here. They're sauces were absolutely outstanding. I would come back here again just so I could have an egg roll with that crazy spicy mustard.
The drinks are in bottles and cans so they have a mix so I was able to get my favorite, Coca-Cola. One of my friends got a mountain dew and a bottle.
So, if you have not been here in a while, be sure to come back in and check it out.
That I mentioned that the lunch special was very...
Read moreWent to Nong's Hunan Express for dinner and I ordered - crab rangoon, lemon chicken and chicken lo mein. Crab Rangoon was great - crispy and a bit sweet, it was served with a sweet-n-soup sauce. Lemon chicken was fried battered chicken with pineapples and lemon slices topped with a sweet sauce, this came with a bowl of rice. I don't prefer meat items with sweet taste so this was a wrong choice. To get a spicy food, I ordered chicken lo mein of medium hotness - this had broccoli florets, sliced carrots, sweet peas and chicken. For hotness, they sprinkled chilli flakes. The restaurant has a homely atmosphere and the lady serving the foods is very cordial. I saw people coming to pick up foods and a couple was also dining there. If you like different kinds of noodles and meat preparation, you can...
