I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Goetchius House restaurant in Columbus that left me speechless. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for a remarkable experience. Every aspect of this establishment, from the food to the ambiance and music, exceeded my expectations and left an indelible mark on my palate. Let's start with the food. The menu was a masterpiece, offering a diverse range of culinary delights that catered to every taste bud. Each dish was meticulously crafted with a perfect balance of flavors and presented with artistic flair. From the first bite to the last, I was transported on a gastronomic journey that showcased the chef's expertise and passion for their craft. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were bold, and the execution was flawless. The ambiance of the restaurant was equally impressive. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere. The decor was tastefully done, creating an elegant yet comfortable setting. The lighting was just right, creating a warm and intimate ambiance that enhanced the overall dining experience. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the carefully chosen furniture to the subtle background music that perfectly complemented the mood. Speaking of music, it played a crucial role in enhancing the overall ambiance. The carefully curated playlist added a touch of sophistication and created a delightful backdrop to the evening. The music selection was diverse, soothing melodies. It seamlessly blended with the atmosphere, creating a harmonious environment that enhanced the enjoyment of the meal. The service was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who were passionate about providing an exceptional dining experience. They were prompt, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met. Their expertise in recommending dishes and pairing wines further elevated the overall experience. In conclusion, my dining experience at The Goetchius House restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of exceptional food, inviting ambiance, and carefully curated music created a symphony of flavors and sensations that will forever be etched in my memory. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a truly remarkable culinary adventure.

I honestly loved the setup, and the food and drinks were good. However, the service was extremely slow. And I don't understand why they gave the new person a table with 9 or more guests. Our waitress barely had any help. My issue was when the large (Ride On Bikes) group came in. The crowd was extremely loud. I went from enjoying my bday dinner to feeling like I was sitting in a sports bar. Also, a dog was casually walking around and even walked up to me at the dinner table. Ugh... The night was nearly ruined before I could cut my cake, etc. I honestly don't think I'll visit here again. I expect a lot more from a fine dining experience, especially when my meal was more than $100. Update: I can't reply to the response. I'll just say this. There are no excuses. Service was extremely slow, regardless. It took forever to get everything, which includes drinks, salads, and utensils. Also, why should a private room have to be requested for it not to be nosey. The reply mentioned us being there for 2 hours. Is that to say we were there too long? Ha... I don't think so. It took several moments to get things, and some guests were extremely late. We could've easily been out within two hours if it weren't for delays. I'm most definitely going to stay away from this place unless I have very good reason to go back. Now, I feel insulted. That group that came in was huge and extremely loud. I thought the Goetchius House was upscale. I understand you all accepting people, but you talk about STANDARDS in your response!

Let’s start with the atmosphere/ vibes, absolutely beautiful with so much character and stunning decor. My husband and I came tonight to celebrate Mother’s Day & our 3 year anniversary. I really enjoyed the piano being played and the guy singing and humming. It was very romantic and calming. Let’s talk drinks - alcoholic beverages 10/10.. however our water was never refilled and we were soooo thirsty. The waitress was sweet but didn’t come by much. Appetizers - we loved the crab cake although it wasn’t as warm as I’d like but I do recommend this appetizer! Entree’s - my husband got the Beef Wellington .. it didn’t come with the Madeira sauce which was the first disappointment.. the sides of broccoli and mushrooms were cold and didn’t have ANY seasoning or flavor which was another disappointment. I got the Pistachio crusted Lamb (or so I thought) but instead… the lamb was coated with this onion jelly which was not good. It was served with veggies which were also cold and NOT seasoned at all unfortunately. We were extremely disappointed. To be honest our entree’s reminded me of hospital food (cold, unseasoned, and served hours later). I really wanted to love this place! Our special anniversary date wasn’t exactly how I imagined but at least the drinks, piano music, and hubs made it special.

I was tentative on leaving a review for over a year however there is a particular reason for this circumstance. I came across a post on Columbus Foodies Facebook group made by Deorio’s restaurant owner searching for a particular couple who visited their establishment recently. The owner apologized to the unknown couple for not being acknowledged for 4 minutes before leaving the restaurant without saying a word. The owner, who didn’t discover this until after the fact, felt terrible about the situation and was compelled to search for this couple to offer them a complementary lunch. I was so impressed by the tenacity of the owner reaching that extra mile to not only go on a manhunt but publicly acknowledged the wrong, apologized and offered a remedy. Now what does this have to do with Goetchius House? A year ago, for my birthday, my husband made a dinner reservation for our family of 3. To note, it was a Saturday evening but this particular weekend did not fall on any sort of holiday or special event. We were greeted by the host upon arrival and seated at a corner table with menus. We perused the menu and conversed amongst ourselves for about 15 minutes before wondering when we were going to be met by a waiter. We watched multiple staff walk by but with no acknowledgment to us. One even made eye contact but that was as far as it went. It was apparent we’ve been sitting there waiting, no drinks on the table but they did not seem to care. I told my husband that we’ll wait for another 10 minutes and if nobody comes over, we’ll just leave. During that time, we were Googling other nearby restaurants that would accept us and found one before heading out. Sure enough, it was 40 minutes past our reservation time and not a single waiter acknowledged us. As we were walking out to the foyer, judging by the host’s facial expression, he was surprised to see us. He asked if we enjoyed our dinner to which we told him we never met our waiter. He was taken aback and made multiple attempts to have us be seated again. He said he would take care of us and though I appreciate his effort, I expressed that we have already set our mind to try someplace else. While my husband and I were in the car driving to the next restaurant, we discussed how disappointing that experience was and as a business owner myself, I would’ve personally reach out to my clients, apologize and find a way to make up for it. The restaurant does after all, have our contact information for the reservation. It’s been a year, with no word from Goetchius House and still disappointed because now it’s an ingrained memory of how my birthday went that year. I have yet to go back and in all honestly,...

This was disappointing and lackluster to put it mildly. We took my grandmother here for brunch for her 90th birthday and the food was less than underwhelming. I grew up coming to the Goetchuis House for every special occasion. It was fine dining back in the day. So where do I start; I was made aware that there would be a limited menu due to only brunch being offered on Sundays. However, limited was an understatement. Limited equated to a chicken salad sandwich, a chicken wrap, and their version of a buffet. Most of my guests-3 out of 5 opted to get the buffet since the choices were so limited. 1 guest tried the chicken salad sandwich which surprisingly contained raisins throughout, but we’re not prone to complaining unless something’s majorly wrong so they just dealt with it. The wisest person chose not to eat after seeing how truly limited the “limited menu” was. Now as for the $35/ per person buffet. There was a small display of various foods that seemed to have been microwaved at some point and set out in covered dishes keeping the foods at room temperature or perhaps slightly below. The assortment included: sausage links, grits, eggs, toast, shrimp, lobster mac & cheese, triangle cuts of waffles, mini pancakes, overcooked fried chicken, hash browns , pineapples, strawberries, blueberries and a small cereal sized bowl of salad. It sounds like a worthy display on paper but in person all items fit on 1 table as the provided portions are very small. You serve yourself all items, so the hygiene factor is pretty much out of the window. I had to ask that more fruit be put out bc the small “buffet style” plate of it that was provided was empty. There was little to no syrup or salad dressing and we had to wait for straws. It’s definitely not a food friendly environment for a picky young eater or if you have a healthy pallet in general. 🤷 The service was not great, however all staff was friendly. Just don’t come here for brunch or with high expectations. Our table was a little dirty, torn wrapper from sugar packets on the seat etc. All in all it’s most definitely not the same Goetchius House from my childhood and younger years. I probably won’t go back unless I hear that dinner is amazing. Was a bit mind blowing that we paid $205 for 3 buffets (1 of which was for a 6 y/o), 1 chicken salad sandwich, 1 Sprite and 3 sweet teas. Gratuity was included adding $32 to the bill yet when the bill was paid there is an additional section suggesting percentages for additional gratuity be added. There is an over-priced toy store mostly for the 4 and under age range. The toys look antique. My child got a small finding Nemo stuffed...
