Rocco's cooks exceptional steak. The restaurant also boasts delicious bread, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, salads, and soups (the chicken noodle is my favorite).

Chef Don Litchfield is a master of his craft. My favorite appetizers are the jalapenos. They aren't the frozen and reheated fake-cheese kind found in nearly every other restaurant. Instead, Chef Litchfield makes them from scratch with fresh jalapenos, real cheese, and wraps them in bacon. Another highlight is Rocco's Bread, a sourdough loaf loaded with cheese, garlic, balsamic glaze, and optional chili flakes.

From what I know, Chef Litchfield is vehemently opposed to having a microwave in his kitchen. For the patron, this means the food is fresh. The servers excel in making sure the food arrives at your table hot as well.

The Rocco's servers are efficient and they work hard. The bartenders are attentive. I am consistently impressed by the service at Rocco's.

In the instances I have ordered take-out, the food has always been ready at the promised time. Moreover, the take-out process is seamless because the kitchen is on-point and the servers' work ethic is...

Visited Jan. 27th .see receipt.

While in Colusa I was recommended to try this place. They open at 11am for lunch.

The inside is rustic with a hometown feel. They have a full bar as well.

I tried the aged beef sandwich that comes with a jus and a side. I chose the soup, which was chicken with poblano with the right amount of spice and it was delicious! Unfortunately the sandwich was lacking in flavor for my taste and the portion of meat could have been more ample. The bread was soft and delightful and the A jus helped enhance the flavor.

They have daily "blue light specials" that are more wallet friendly that include a entree with a side and a soda (15 bucks). The waitress said that have great Wednesday night specials and the weekends are packed for prime rib.

It's a nice and much needed spot in Colusa. The waitress (Olivia) was very accommodating and friendly! Customers are friendly as well.

I can see coming back on a Wednesday night when they have their smoker going!

It was still a really good experience and will definitely...

Yesterday afternoon, 10/30/20, we ordered by phone 2 orders of Chowder Bread Bowls to go. We hadn't had any for few months and were really looking forward to them. We picked up the order in the alley at 5:00 PM. On the way home we checked the order we got. It had 2 loaves of bread and 2 containers of Chowder. Small containers. In the past we received much larger containers. We went back to the restaurant and showed the server that came out to the alley. She went in and checked with the kitchen. She came back a few minutes later and told us the person in the kitchen said if we got larger containers in the past that we just got lucky then. We asked for the owner but were told he was busy making pizza. There was no effort on the part of the restaurant to make things right with us. When we got home I couldn't resist measuring the chowder. Each 8 ounce container had 6.5 ounces. Not much chowder for $25.74 plus a $5 tip. In the past I'm sure the chowder was in 16...

Worth getting off I-5 at Highway 20 and driving 15 miles to Colusa for NorCal’s best onion rings. The big smoker out back added a nice flavor to the pastrami on the sandwich I devoured. Generous chunks of tasty tender steak on the salad Miss Elle ordered. A new menu item was fish & chips and based on the batter on the rings it’s gonna be a hit. High winds the day we visited made outdoor dining impossible. The clientele seemed to be all locals, a good indicator in my book. Dog friendly. Our server was upbeat knowledgeable, and efficient. For desert the bread pudding (2-spoons!) was yummy. We’ll have to come back some evening and order from the dinner menu and maybe….a bump up to 5-Stars.
