BIRRITACO Tacos y Tequila — Restaurant in Concord

They say "third time is a charm" for me my third visit to Birritaco was the WORST! My niece and I were really looking forward to dinning here after a much needed start to my "spring work break". I live in an area where there are many restaurants to choose from and Birritaco is a drive therefore I have to plan to go. My niece only likes certain foods she enjoys the chicken and cheese birria tacos but she really likes quesadillas so I ordered her the chicken and cheese quesabirria because the tacos can be too messy for her. For myself I also decided to try something other that the tacos I ordered the birria bowl. My niece enjoyed her meal but said she likes the tacos better. I didn't really enjoy my meal as much as I enjoy the tacos (note to self stick with the tacos) what I was really looking forward to was the "margaritas flight" I was so disappointed very disappointed!!! My previous visit the flight was so good it was 1 flavor I didn't like. This time the margarita flight was terrible I got 2 dragon fruit, melon, spicy mango. The mix of entirely off it was extremely sweet too sweet to drink. I started not to say anything but the waiter asked me was everything okay did everything look right so I told him no and explained my issue I also said rather than make me the entire flight just make remake the dragon fruit. I only drank 1 out of the 4 and the dragon fruit was the flavor I really like. So he said I'll have to see I'll be back! I thought wait what I'm not even asking you to remake the entire flight only 1 and you have to see??? Make the situation right Sir...I didn't say take it off my bill I don't want it just remake 1. He took the dragon fruit and said it would be remade after waiting he brought back the same drink with out the lime garnish. I took a sip instantly knowing it was the same drink! This is sad I really initially liked this place but not anymore. I had high hopes that that evening was going to start my spring break off right but it was the total opposite. The flight was undrinkable and I tried only to pay for it not only monetarily but it made me sick later I had headaches and I vomiting. I'm so upset that not only did I pay I left a tip based on my experience it wasn't deserved. Birritaco if you're not going to take care of your patrons why bother asking is everything okay if you won't make things right. What a waste..off time, money, appetite and evening....

Man, I want to give this place a 5 so bad, but based on last nights experience I had to take it down a star. We are here Saturday night, LOVED IT! We had a margarita flight (soooo good), some tacos, quesadilla and my daughter got fries. For $3, you get enough fries for an entire family! Our food was great, service was ok (they were busy so we just assume that’s why) but still impressed.

Fast forward to last night. We went around 6pm. We figured sincit was a Wednesday they would be less crowded & they were. Our server was very sweet, much better than the one before but she was so overworked. She was the only waitress in the whole place. The hostess was helping her wait tables because it was just too much for one person to do. We ordered our food and a flight of margaritas. Our food came out quick, maybe 20 min after ordering. Still no margaritas. We asked our waitress if maybe we got skipped because we kept seeing tables get their flights. She said the bartender was behind. We were there for an hour and our drinks were still not made! We finally just asked for her to take them off our order because we needed to go. The food was not nearly as good as the first time. Our server did an amazing job handling it all though.

All this to say, if last night would have been our first time there we probably would not go back. Whoever needs to see this (management)…PLEASE get the bartender some help back there even on a weeknight. I’ve never had to cancel a drink order at any restaurant lol. It seems everyone orders the flights and he simply cannot handle making 25 flights at a time. I don’t see how anyone could honestly. Maybe there were call outs, I don’t know. It just seems there should be more than 1 waitress and 1 bartender even on a weeknight. We will be back, but I hope we have a better...

It was not the experience I expected, the decor is interesting but the staff seems annoyed or bothered from the moment you walk in, the way they look at you with disdain, throwing menus on the table and in general the energy of the place even when it was basically empty; the birria empanadas were flavorless and they served it with a regular pico de gallo and a “guacamole” with no real flavor; my husband and father-in-law ordered margaritas, my husband ordered a strawberry one and they brought him a regular one, why? No idea, he drank it because he’s not the kind of person to return things or complain…

We all ordered different type of tacos, for me the chorizo taco was the same, bland, flavorless and it’s the first time I’ve experienced this being Latina and having lived in Mexico, and I understand it’s Tex-Mex but flavorless pork is the last straw; I changed it for my husband's Tinga which was totally average as well as the Carne Asada, and I'm not giving 1 star because the shrimp was good so it was a 1.25 out of 3 with my food, my husband said his birria tacos were pretty average too being his favorite type of taco in general so my conclusion is that I appreciate the quantity (amount of ingredients) inside the tacos and the cool-cute decor inside and out but definitely the food and the staff need sazón.

PS: I went yesterday and today I'm sick to my stomach and that doesn't usually happen to me when I eat at home or even when I eat out at...
