Honestly I belive it's named Lucky Dog because of the doggy bag you will take home. We were forced to come in while camping when a thunderstorm hit.
I've told several people about my experience and they all agreed we should of not paid for the food. I really wish we would of just left. What a waste of money.
Completely packed. We stood awkwardly at the door not having a clue what to do. Finally someone said take our table. The table was a chair short. Ask everyone with extra chairs for one. Denied.
Sat at the table with the dirty dishes and plates for probably 4 minutes before anyone came over.
Sadly, when she finally came over it was clear that she hated her job. I have no idea what her name was. I'd love for her to know that it shows. (Unnatural blonde in a surprisely bright orange shirt and pink floral short skirt with a choker and a moon on it.) -not friendly -had to be constantly asked for water -kinda just slammed things on to table. Aka careless
The food - bland. I was staving coming in to the fact that it was bland and just not worth eating is sad. -We ordered steel Town fries. NO SALT. Barely any queso. ($11) I had the chicken Pineapple flatbread. Seriously I paid $13 from this!! A Naan flatbread with 6 pieces of Pineapple, a bland white piece of chicken. No marinate it was white as paper and way too thick for a sandwich. The chips thanks to the pickle were mushy. Came barely warm and half way burnt. Friends had burrito. They all tasted the same. We used half a bottle of hot sauce at the table to give them something to taste. -Never have I said oh look how frothy my ranch is! But today was the day. Props for making homemade ranch, but it was more buttermilk texture than creamy.
The food seemed so amazing I had such a hard time picking and changed my mind 2x before ordering. So disappointed in everything.
I can't believe we spent $40 for the most mediocre food in my life. I had marinated chicken, foil wrapped potatoes, and grilled asparagus waiting at my campsite. I'll never come back so thank the thunderstorm for this. I honestly would of just ate a hotdog & Smores and been more happy with that than the food I ate.
I often recommended this restaurant to others on my list of top places to eat along the GAP. Unfortunately I do not think I will be recommending it in the future. Recently my friend, her mother and I were biking the GAP with our older infants. It was an unreasonably hot May weekend, even in the morning, and we were looking for a shaded place to sit and feed our hungry babies. The cafe was not going to open for over two more hours and the shaded seating near the parking lot was taken by other groups.
So we sat on the outside patio seats in front of the cafe and fed our babies. There were no signs asking us to refrain from doing so outside business hours and we were extremely respectful. However ten minutes later we were somewhat rudely asked to leave by a staff member. When we apologized and explained our situation we were gruffly directed to unused picnic tables in the sun. I completely support the cafe’s right of ownership over their property but given the business supplied by the biking community I expected them to be a little more supportive and understanding of parents seeking a few moments shelter from the heat. Had we been able to buy food we absolutely would have done so. So sad to have this experience after so many good meals! :(. We biked ahead to Fall’s City Pub for a...
Read moreUpdate October 2024: get the burrito if you like rice and beans. I added chicken and wow. They put the burrito together then bake it, then pour queso on top a bit. Omg. Food coma. Breakfast lunch and dinner in one sitting. I absolutely crushed it and don't regret. Be prepared to take a nap for three hours.
I really liked this place. I thought the meat in the taco and the shells themselves could have been warmed up vs served cold. But otherwise it was good. Liked the chips, the tacos and the service was interesting. You don't get waited on you order at the bar, self seat, and then they bring stuff out to you. They stop by often even when busy to see if you are ok. Take plates away etc. Pretty cool way of handling that. Food came out fairly quickly. It is a nice place to hang out, you don't want to leave because it is such an enjoyable experience looking at all the plants and people's dogs. Good times. Will definitely be back and try something else to find...
