My aunt, son, and I frequent here quite a bit. We typically don't have bad service. Although, this last time we did. Upon walking in we were told that they were going to be closing in about 30 minutes. Granted I was more sympathetic to that than my aunt, so I suggested take out instead. There was one family that was seated right before us and two families came after us but were sent away. The waitress that told us they would be closing soon was very rude and unwelcoming. Instead of taking our order right away so we could be gone sooner she chose to avoid us, probably hoping we would leave. You could tell she was complaining to the other employees, behind the ice cream bar, because she was throwing her hands up in the air. She never once smiled to any customer in there. Maybe she was having an extraordinarily bad day, but she's always kinda frumpy and unfriendly any time we've been there. Another waitress asked if we were waiting for a pick up and told her the other girl never took our order. She put it in and we paid. 20 mins later she brings our bag. I got irritated at my aunt for opening the containers to make sure everything was there but we were missing 3 things. I asked if maybe there was a second bag in the back for us and the girl who took our order went to check and I guess they have pre-made sides so she was able to quickly get them for us. I don't know how long the employees get paid after closing time, for cleaning up and cashing out the register, but I guarantee they aren't cut off at 8. If management doesn't give them adequate time to finish then something needs to change. The food was good, as always, but there's certainly room for improvement...
Read moreWe are not ones to complain much, BUT…. This was a horrible experience! After working a very long day, we stopped in, place was empty, us and two other tables. We put in our drink order along with appetizers. Then about 15-20 mins later, put in for our food order. Waiting, waiting on apps, finally ask about them, guessing she forgot to even put the order in, another 20 mins go by and she says, it’s taking them a long time to make the appetizers right now. So ok. Then now after a total of 45 mins, then states they are out of tots. So I asked for smothered fries instead of smothered tots, then bring us cheese sticks, never even bothered to say they couldn’t do the fries.
The food comes, our daughters Mac and cheese was barely warm.
Fiancé never got his mashed potatoes, pot roast barely warmed, then asked for the mashed potatoes, they came out ice cold, literally ice cold! Waiting for another side of potato’s, then all his food was cold by now from waiting so cancelled the potato order, no one wants to eat cold food, and not even so much as an apology. He didn’t even eat his meal.
Not to mention our appetizers didn’t come until after our meals! And entire hour and half wasted of our time, and not so much as even take the apps off the bill, at the very least.
And definitely wasn’t under staffed. Their were plenty of waitresses and staff, so can’t even say it was understaffed. And believe me, not busy, not at all.
Very disappointed, wasted time...
Read moreValley Dairy Restaurant is the perfect spot if you're in the mood for cozy diner vibes and exceptional service. With several local locations around the area (but not a national chain), it feels like a hidden gem that's well worth visiting. The service here is quick and top-notch, with the wait staff being incredibly polite and attentive to small details, like keeping your drink refills coming without needing to ask.
A standout feature of Valley Dairy is their food – the beer cheese is absolutely delicious and a must-try! For a hearty meal, I highly recommend the Double Bacon Burger and the Bacon Bourbon Chicken – both are packed with flavor. However, I would suggest skipping the country fried fish, as it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
Another perk is that they serve breakfast all day, so you can satisfy those morning cravings no matter the hour. For appetizers, the Smothered Tots are a great choice and really hit the spot.
If you’re in the mood for a cozy night in, Valley Dairy also offers delivery through DoorDash, so you can enjoy their tasty meals at home.
As for the location, it’s conveniently situated right in town, making it easy to pop in. However, be aware that since it’s right off a highway, the traffic can make pulling in and out of the parking lot a bit of a challenge depending on the time of day.
Overall, Valley Dairy Restaurant is a great choice for anyone looking for good food, quick service, and a...
