1877 Pub & Grub — Restaurant in Conover

Service was barely acceptable - waitress asked us if we knew what we wanted as we sat down before a menu was offered. There was no specfic drink menu, though the food menu listed a small assortment of signature cocktails. Nothing was said about what was available as far as beer or wine, or if there were any specials.

When asked what was on draft, the waitress had to look and came back with "it said Terra" without further care or explanation. I could see Miller light, Blue Moon and Belgium - the were 4 beers on tap that I could see; not much of a selection for a pub. The other person I was with got a signature cocktail, that was like a watered down Canada dry gingerale with a splash of bottom shelf vodka. The copper cup was cute, despite not finishing the cocktail.

We ordered the gouda bacon dip. The chips were stale and hard as a rock, and the dip tasted like a bowl of warm mayonnaise. We didn't finish it.

The atmosphere was overwhelmingly loud, and there weren't even that many people, which was unusual. I think the acoustics of the building are just difficult to be in - not that there's much to be done about it, but it was off putting...

ROACHES...ROACHES...I’m sorry but my first and last experience was 9/25/20 around 3 pm at the bar with 3 of my coworkers and we had some drinks, nachos and wings. Service was good but we had a cockroach crawling on my nacho plate after I was done eating. The bartender and a woman that I assumed was the manager at the time was informed by us and and only apologized and informed us they had never seen cockroaches in the years that they had been working there. They came over to try to find the roach but didn’t find it and after awhile another one came crawling back on to the bar and we killed it so we could show them the fact that there were indeed roaches around the bar area. We were never offered compensation for our meals or anything else that I expected an establishment to do to attempt to make our experience better or to help us consider coming back in the future. I only didn’t have to pay for the nachos. I paid for my drink and left a tip for the service my coworkers paid as well but I will leave a review for others to stay informed on my experience and none of us will be going back to...

Not worth it at all!!!! If I could’ve given no stars with a review then it would be just that!!!! I’m going to name just a few reasons to eat somewhere else. 1- ordered food and it was cold I watched my food sit for over 7 minutes. 2-Cooks do not use gloves at all!!!! I watched as the cook wiped his face then continue to cook food. 3 servers are rude and do not come check on you as a good server should. 4. The owner or whoever the guy is with the plaid shirt not sure if he is a customer or really the owner just plain belligerent the whole time. 5 way over priced not enough food at all ordered the steak tacos and only had 5 pieces all together for 13.00 bucks that’s a rip off!!!!!!!. Not sure if everybody was under the influence or just the cooks and owner. All of this was me stopping by and giving this place a try. I have been to a lot of pubs in my life and this has been the worst I have been to in my life!!!!
