I have only recently discovered this place, but I stop by once a week to grab a tray for the office. The people are very nice here and they'll usually give me a free sample of the custard piece. I honestly have no idea what to call it or what it is, but it's delicious. I usually get a small tray with four pieces of baklava and the rest of the tray is filled with the custard pieces. It's absolutely amazing.
The baklava is flaky and flavorful and covered in honey in the best way. You'll most likely need a napkin when you eat these. I just pop a whole piece in my mouth when I eat them, but do yourself a favor and take it in two bites.
Just imagine the custard pieces as freshly baked custard wrapped in a flaky puff pastry. Whatever you're imagining, it's better than that.
I tried their cakes one time and they were disappointingly underwhelming. I got two different pieces hoping to try two different pieces of cake, but they strangely tasted like almost the same thing. I could hardly distinguish between the two and I could only do so because I knew they were different cakes. I don't think I would have noticed a difference in a blind taste test. They were mostly just sweet and lacked any distinct flavors. They were supposed to be some sort of berry flavor but they didn't taste like anything. The cake itself was a bit dry and the icing was bland. I'm a huge fan of lightly sweetened icing, but at least that had some flavor to it. This was mainly just sweet
The baklava is fantastic, but the cake is not. Stick to the right side of the store and you...
Read moreI shopped at this place when they first opened their sweet were good. But recently I went there to buy few trays of baklava and other sweets to take as a gift to our friends. First of all she only sells baklava by weight not by tray (fixed price) as other middle eastern sweet shops do; secondly after I bought and left the store and took it to our friends; they noticed the baklava was Drenched with syrup to make it heavier when weighted; the taste was terrible and I ended paying $70 for sweets that was worthless. Next day I called and complained saying we weren’t able to eat the sweets because of heavy Syrup that was added on purpose to make it heavier. The worker said I will have the owner call you, they never did. Such a ripoff place...
