This review is based on the services and the result is that they just lost their would be loyal customers. It was our 4th time visiting the establishment in a month and we brought friends.
The food is good in general although some dishes might be on the sweet side.
After our first visit, we thought the food was (and still is) good and want to show our support their newly opened restaurant by organizing a small dinner party with our friends. We got our menu together based on what they can offer because they are still in the 'soft opening' period. I gave the owner our selections with date, time and number of people. The owner gave me a set price which taxes were included. I verified a few times with the owner to make sure there would be enough food for our group and was assured that it would be.
Fast forward to our dinner. We were seated and sat there without drink menu nor water. After 10 minutes, I asked for the drink menu while still waiting for the water. Another 15 minutes went by, I decided to stop the waitstaff for water and for others to be able to order their drinks. We advised the owner that we were ready for the food and waited....awhile. The appetizer was not a lot for our group but thought it was only an appetizer after all. Main courses were brought out and they were not enough for our group as promised. 2 individusl small bowls of rice to divide among the group. I requested for more rice and received what amounted to almost to the same portion as the initial bowls. I skipped a couples of dishes because there were not enough for our friends. Toward the end, I mentioned to the waitstaff that there is still 1 entree missing, after back and forth for a few minutes and I showed him what was written on our set menu, it was served.
Fast forward to getting our bills and paid. I was told to talk to the second owner whom informed me that the set price wasn't included taxes plus it costs more for the extra rice we received. After informing the 2nd owner that we had 2 small bowls of rice for the entire group when we were assured that there would be enough food for all of us which clearly was not. However, I didn't want to make a scene so I agreed to pay the new charges.
We still left generous tips despite poor services. We understand the difficulties of owning businesses but we also think that business owners should go the extra mile to retain customers or at least when starting out. The dinner was the tail-end of a few broken promises leading to it. The experience was an unpleasant one.
We sincerely hope they will change their ways of operating and...
Read moreProbably the best Vietnamese restaurant in a metro area filled with great Vietnamese places. The atmosphere is second to none, with the ambiance of a romantic French bistro, including an attractive wooden bar, orchids and tropical plants near the entrance, soft lighting and romantic music. At the holidays a beautiful Christmas tree makes the cozy little restaurant extra festive.
The service is super attentive without any hovering, with proprietors who go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your food and dining experience.
The food holds up, too. Expect high-quality crispy Hanoi grilled pork over vermicelli, caramel clay pot dishes, and freshly wrapped spring rolls to match any eatery in nearby little Saigon. With main dishes at $15-$20, the prices are similar to lesser places, making it a great value.
You'd never expect such a gem to be found in such a non-descript Falls Church strip mall. If you want top-notch Vietnamese food with great atmosphere, this place will surely...
Read moreAtmosphere is great, but I agree with some of the comments as well that the service wasn’t that great. The male Hispanic waiter was friendly and doing his absolute best to ensure service was being rendered, but the Asian female hosted/waiter was extremely rude. When you walk inside the place, there are no signs telling you were to stand, wait or anything however there are 2 signs that say do not touch the plants. She was upset that my guest and I were standing by the door waiting to be seated (we waited for more than 5 mins without any acknowledgment). Then she told me, "Move out of the doorway so people can exit the place". Yes, she said these exact words. There was nobody leaving or entering the restaurant. I also waited a long time to get my food. This was my 3rd time going. I will never return. They have lost a local customer for good. There are definitely better pho places to go to if that’s...
