I was very pleasantly surprised, impressed, and grateful for the accommodations I secured at the Falls Church l, VA Motel 6. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was impeccably clean and organized. The room was spacious and bright. It featured large windows for ample natural light, room to move and exercise, a nice desk and chair for a workspace and the mini fridge and microwave allowed me to keep my diet and food preferences on par while away from home.
There is a CVS conveniently located across the street that I visited while here as well.
I can’t rave enough about the BEST two nights of comfortable sleep I have EVER had in my life! I have always had the same problems as the Princess and the lea when it comes to sleep disturbances and uncomfortable mattresses. I have stayed at very high end resorts a s hotels in my 50 years of life and have never had such kind sleeping accommodations. My body can’t manage the sag and discomfort of old and worn mattresses. The body impressions in old mattresses are pure hell to sleep on for me. I dread the discovery of a saggy mattress.
Sadly, this detail is often overlooked at the finest of resorts which makes me feel disrespected, unwelcome, uncomfortable, and like my health was not an intentional factor of kindness for the price I paid to stay. Feeling less important than the money you pay to stay is unkind. Thankfully my bed, which actually were two beds because I stayed as a single person in a room with two double beds, was absolutely fantastic!! I stayed one night in one bed and the second. Night in the other bed and was equally amazed at the comfort! Well done, Motel 6!
You better believe I took a pic of the mattress type which was Serta Perfect Sleeper! I need one at home!!
The kindness of the staff and accommodations will keep me coming back and recommending Motel 6. I appreciate and respect kind, honest and fair treatment in accommodation and price. Motel 6 provided all. They have my 5 star review!
As with any busy city after dark, the normal noise and disruption ensued from neighboring units, the parking lot, and nearby establishments. The noise was normal, usual, non-harming, and nonviolent. It subsided in plenty of time to get restful sleep and at no time did I feel unsafe, targeted for crime or theft, threatened, or afraid.
Great experience all...
Read moreOur family frequents Motel 6's because they're pet friendly and allow us to travel with our husky, which is great! I'm not very high maintenance - I don't expect a flawless room or great service at a Motel 6. There's only really one thing that will make me leave a room - but unfortunately, our first room had them.
As soon as we walked in, my husband noticed our fridge was leaking everywhere. Not a huge deal, I didn't plan to use the fridge. But he moved it and saw...well, I don't know how many cockroaches, he was trying to hide them from me. But I found one crawling across the wall, and another on the nightstand just inches from my face, and then announced I was going to sleep in the car. My husband went to the lobby and told them about the problem and they moved us a whole two rooms down, to an "upgraded room" - though we really didn't see any difference between the rooms, aside from an obvious lack of cockroaches. I guess you have to pay to upgrade to a cockroach free room? Should put that in the fine print.
All right, there were some pros:
The shower was hot and pressure was decent, which we've had trouble with at other Motel 6's. The guy in the lobby was friendly enough. He willingly came into the new room with me and scoured the room for bugs, even killing some gnats without rolling his eyes at me! Not his fault the first room had bugs, so we didn't take it out on him. The second room was bug free - and trust me, I would've found them.
Other little petty complaints - No blow dryers in the rooms, and they kept giving us two towels, despite the fact that there were 4 of us in the room? And no shampoo or other toiletries until we specifically asked for them. Little things like that could easily be improved upon. We'll continue to use Motel 6 - just...
Read moreI was scheduled to stay here or 3 nights, but left after the first night, which was sleepless. I told the front desk worker and he took over 20 minutes to write out my issues and said someone would get back to me and no one has bothered to reach out. The room was supposed to be for the disabled, but the minute I started to sit down, the bed started to slide because no one had locked the wheels. After we checked in a car with drunk men started yelling and screaming at my friend in my car. The front desk person said this person is often around the motel and is usually drunk and shrugged it off. The people above us were in and out and clomping around well into the wee hours of the morning. When my friend went outside to see what was happening and started toward the front desk, the worker came up to my friend and said that she was scared because she was working by herself and felt threatened by the guests above us. My friend told her to call the police. Around 3 or 4 AM I heard loud knocking coming from upstairs twice and then things settled down. So, I probably got to sleep around 4:30-5:00AM. I got up to take get ready to go out and all I had was hot water...too hard to use.
I requested an adjustment for my lost night of sleep, lack of usable water and other disappointments and have never heard a thing back from anyone from Motel 6. I have been a very loyal patron of the chain because I have dogs and have always enjoyed the simple, reasonably priced accommodations, but I cannot continue to patronize nor can I recommend a company that does not provide excellent customer service to their customers, especially the loyal ones. This location has only been open less than a year and is certainly not starting off on a...
