El Balcón de las Américas - Boca Raton - Sandalfoot Blvd — Restaurant in Parkland

For the past 5 yrs we have ordered lunch or dinner to go from this location. This morning was the 1st time my husband and I had breakfast here. Anyway we were the only customers in there along with the waitress and cook. My husband ordered huevos campesinos from the breakfast menu not realizing it had mushrooms. When we got our food we called the waitress over and apologized for the inconvenience & explained to her we didn't realize my husband meal came with mushrooms and he's unable to eat it as he gets sick. she flat out told us NO (a mini pot with eggs with some type of sauce over the eggs)as we had the menus and should have read it thoroughly before placing the order and if we wanted to replace it she would have to charge us double because it was a loss for them. We apologized and attempted one last time, but the waitress was not willing to make it right unless we paid for the meal again. I told her it was absurd as we have never heard of any restaurant to that. She said sorry that's how it is here and walked away. I walked over to the register area and asked to speak with a manager and she came back around and claimed she was the mgr and her decision was final. We were so upset as my husband was left without eating (since she refused to replace it). I ended up offering him some of my food and asked for the check. We expressed to her this was by far the most horrendous service ever and we will never order or come to this location ever again! She responded with that's our choice and immediately started to clear our table without asking if we were done. I had offered my husband some of my food since he had nothing to eat, but after one bite she took away his plate again without asking. We got the check and she said to us by the way i didn't charge you guys for my husband's meal. Really? How can someone charge anyone for food they didn't eat in the first place. I do not recommend this...

A friend brought a group of us here for a belated birthday dinner. Spoke highly of this restaurant.

Our waiter, Daniel, was so kind, patient and accommodating. We had a large party, so it took us awhile to decide what to order, despite him checking back with us a couple times. EVERYTHING was so fresh and delicious. I tend to be very picky since I have close friends that are Exceutive Chefs. Highly recommend this place. I had the fried trout which was PERFECTLY seasoned and fried, NOT HEAVY at all. The rice and broccoli (not overcooked, green thankfully) were delicious and the tostones and Yuca Frita with mojo and chimichurri. Que Rico!

The diners next to us in the booth ordered a sizzling piece of meat and it was smoking a lot, so another waiter thoughtfully opened the door to vent the smoke out because it became a little overwhelming. That was very much appreciated.

Daniel went above and beyond with his service, waiters like him are not very common and he gladly made sure everyone had what they needed. Will definitely return and ask for him. Great service and delicious food.

I placed an order to pickup the lady on the phone barely speak English to make the story short I finally ordered my food. I got there to pick it up no one acknowledged me I told them that I placed an order to go the guy grabbed one of the bags dumped it on the counter then the second one he got the drinks and I asked him if I can have more salsa he said almost screaming at me already put seven of little containers in the bag I said okay but I need more I’ll pay for it he walked away I stood there waiting to pay no one seems to care finally I asked the lady if she can cash me out and I asked for salsa and straw she threw it in the bag. I asked if the owner is in she said he only comes on Monday and Friday. I spent $78 and got the worst customer service on top of that, they forgot to put the meat in both of my soups what’s in it was just potatoes, plantain, one small piece of corn and a lot of liquid for $16.
