To start I'm giving the brewery such a low rating for the simple fact that your current staff SUCKS (Brianna), simply put. You can have a huge brewing operation, fun merchandise, everything all pretty and canned or bottle beers to go and spend probably somehwere between the 500000 to million dollar mark when its said and done in getting this place going and still have a horrible experience do to the fact it really seemed like your bartender seemed rushed to close even an hour before closing time, then doing a very aggressive "last call" at 830pm! Simply based on the fact your staff could care less about someones overall experience when even first coming into your brewery. We even asked for suggestions when first ordering several flights do to the fact the digital beer menu board would not even stay up long enough to even see what was on tap. So we reverted to asking BRIANNA her suggestions. To which she answered, it's your choice I dont know what you like.....suggestions Brianna, we like suggestions! Since we had never been here before, she even kept looking at the people behind us almost as to try and rush us along and asked in a smart tone. "So do you know what you want yet", so we had to guess through half the beers and then finally asked her politely to just pick a few of her favorites, to which she did seeming very displeased. We attempted get a wide variety to try but honestly they were all just....decent to ok. (No offense) But your staff ruined the experience, and we knew it was not only us when another couple the next table over even commented on how aggressive Brianna came around outside and loudly called "last call". Well folks, on this one its your call, your money. It up to you to decide if you will go check this place out. I do however know myself and my friend will not waste our time money or breathe on this place again. OVERRATED ON ALL...
Read moreKros Strain Brewing is easily one of my all-time favorite breweries — not just in Omaha, but in the entire state of Nebraska. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual beer or planning a small gathering like a birthday party, this place has the space and the vibe to make it work. The taproom is spacious and inviting, and the outdoor patio is a real highlight, offering a variety of seating options — picnic tables, standard tables and chairs, and even cozy spots around a fire pit.
There’s no table service here, which keeps things relaxed — just head up to the bar when you’re ready, and the staff is always friendly, quick, and happy to offer a sample or two if you’re unsure what to order. If you’re looking to try a few things, I highly recommend going with a flight.
Their beer selection is strong across the board, but Fairy Nectar is my personal favorite — it’s one of the best IPAs in the region and is widely available across eastern Nebraska. You’ll also find a well-stocked cooler for to-go cans, and they even offer kegs in various sizes for home events.
Beyond the beer, Kros Strain has a great merch selection — shirts, glassware, stickers, even tap handles and branded signs. The restrooms are clean, and there’s typically a food truck parked out front, plus you’re welcome to bring in outside food. They even offer beer slushies, which are a fun twist on warm days.
Overall, Kros Strain delivers a top-notch experience every single time — highly recommended for locals and...
Read moreFirst visit. Very good beers. Fairy nectar is tasty, not out of the park tasty, but better than average for a flagship IPA. Their other beers follow suit, being better than average for the style. Nice selection of variants like their coffee brown ale and nitro. Next time I come I plan to try the cold brew coffee on nitro and the citra hopped sparkling water.
Decor is pretty neat and staff is friendly.
I would have liked to see a stout and maybe one more style of beer, perhaps a stout. But you can see into their brewing facility and it'll be difficult for them to offer a wide array of styles at one time.
All said, in a Nebraskaland of mediocre breweries Kros Strain is definitely above average.
I've been back a few times now. Selection has improved. Kros Strain is one of the best breweries in Nebraska. Staff is still awesome and I still haven't had a...
