Lake Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Contiguous United States

This place is not only our favorite local spot, but it is by far the best Thai food we have eaten. We are Chinese and all our friends, including one from Thailand, love this place because of its authenticity. People who have traveled to Thailand tell us this place takes them back to Thailand. Ok, so one negative. We called our take out order 15 minutes prior to arriving and we are still waiting (15 minutes and going) with no customers inside or currently waiting (there were two ahead of us when we got here..seemed like they were waiting awhile too). This is a regular occurrence and we know we should have given them the usual 30 minutes before picking up so I only blame ourselves. IF YOU ARE DESPERATELY HUNGRY AND CAN'T WAIT, GO ELSEWHERE!!! This food is so amazing it's worth the wait...made by actual people from Thailand and with love, your palate won't be...

This is my 4th week in Seattle and I've had the best meal in this uassuming Thai restaurant.

I checked into my AirBnB place pretty late and I was knackered as hell so I just searched for "Thai restaurants near me" in Google Maps and Lake Thai was the closest so I just walked over thinking "ah, it's going to be an Americanised Asian place like the rest"

When I ordered Tom Yam Soup, the lady said "you know, our Tom Yum is pretty authentic." I thought "Yeah right, just bring it over chop chop!"

Within 10 mins the Tom Yum, Fried Fish Cakes, rice & beer arrived. The Fish Cakes were decent, but when I had the Tom Yum, my mind just went blank and wolved it down like a vagrant. It was tasty, authentic and the spiciness was the best comfort food to be had on a cold night.

Had 3 beers and the bill came up to $27, which is very reasonable. Will probably eat...

Heard good things about this place so we thought we would check it out. Walked in to place a takeout order for 3 people and was told it would be 40 mins. Wow, that's a long time. They saw our faces and said, let me check with the cook. They came back and said it could be ready in 20. Went out and waited in the car. Came back in at 20 mins and she said it would be another 10-15 mins. Came back in 15 and it was another 5 before our food was actually ready. They had also under-quoted the takeout order before us.
