Oley's Kitchen & Bar B Que — Restaurant in Orlando

Today I patroned your establishment in Orlando Florida (not sure if you're located anywhere else) & I ordered the large turkey wing dinner with rice and peas, Mac and cheese, and collard greens. When the cashier (she never smiles) opened the dish I was looking for turkey wings as the menu stated. Instead I received something that didn't look like turkey, tasted like chicken and ^not worth $20 after 1 bite.

I figured the young lady punched in the wrong things and gave me something like turkey wings so I called up to your establishment hoping to gain some knowledge from the manager on duty at the time I came in.

A young lady with A Jamaican accent answered the phone only to tell me she was the manager but she had just gotten in. I then was placed on hold for the make manager to get on the phone. He spoke and asked how could he help me and I began telling what I ordered and what time I ordered this food. I'm BIG on supporting my own people, but NEVER AGAIN thanks to your manager.

During my simple light conversation with this rude person I expressed the meat didn't taste like turkey. He immediately beat me getting upset and called me a liar after asking me had I ever purchased a whole wing from there before. Now it's been a while since I ordered the turkey wing dinner but I expressed to him yes I'm proud to say I've been eating from Oley's now going on 2 years since moving to Orlando.

I said that with pride only to be called a liar 🤥. I have never felt given A Black owned, Black ran establishment my hard earned money to be insulted by anyone and it's okay. What I will not do is stand by and allow a loud mouth man talk to me in a condescending, disrespectful, belligerent, hurtful, and aggressive manner as if I and the problem.

To add insult to injury, this person would not even give me the chance to explain why I was calling. He continued to throw insults, calling customers Liars and telling us that we're not always right. This might be true but that is not his place to say it out loud even if it's true. No not one time did I accuse him of anything wrong except I asked the question regarding what the meat was.

Then during the conversation, he had the nerve to say "me speak the man to the man of the house maybe he'll be rational then you". Never not one time did I ridicule, or put this man down and for him to tell me that as a woman I don't have a voice that he can only rationalize with my husband. How dare he? He continues on after I told him he will cause me to really go off on him and lose my religion if he called me a liar or disrespected me again.

I asked for his name and he refused to provide it told me to bring the plate back up to the store but I refuse to do that as well. I'm just going to go through my bank to get my funds back. I was not even going that route initially and I explained that if he had stopped talking and cutting me off I could have explained what I thought the meat was. Instead he responded back after I told him he's going to make me lose my religion with the comment yeah I'm used to that from you people!

Now you have this black man that's Jamaican descent racially profiling black women that is African descent and did not deserve it. When I asked for the owner's name he stated she's not there and come back in the store and ask for her if you want to see her. He needs to be fired! But I'm certain y'all are not going to do that so now you have lost business, new business, and future business from my organization. This is all thanks to this person here!

I will be writing a review and going on my social media platform along with my son's social media platform who also lives in Orlando and is very very popular on social media to put this organization on blast all because of one person. I will never Patron this organization ever again!

It is only right to allow the owner to speak with me, but if not that's okay as well but I will be doing my due diligence to put this person on blast. Hope to hear...

I really wanted to like this restaurant but first time going here and so VERY disappointed. Ordered a large order of turkey wings and 3 sides: dressing, collard greens, yams. Also ordered another plate with the same but with Mac n cheese with white rice. Well for starters, the first plate was without dressing and had a mountain of white rice under the "turkey wings". The "turkey wings" were actually chopped or cut up turkey! Could not be considered a large order of turkey wings by any means. So basically one turkey wing chopped up to be a large order. I expected whole turkey wings but nope. Thankfully the server, checked the order and fixed the issue with the missing dressing. Well, when I got to my car, I immediately tasted the food. The "turkey wings" or cut up turkey was COLD! So they must have heated them up in the microwave and placed it on the mountain of rice. Speaking of the rice-some of the rice was hard and clumpy but mostly so soft and without salt. The cornbread was dry and hard. The Mac n cheese was ok. The collard greens was not even warm but cold. The yams were the only great thing about the meal albeit they were barely warm . So starved and...

My family and I visited this restaurant last night. We did arrive close to closing time but there was another customer being served as well. We had a horrible experience with the food and restaurant quality.

Pros: The mac and cheese was very delicious (not dry as previously described) The potato salad was excellent The proportion of food you receive is very generous The cook attempted to accommodate by exchanging our food orders for something more suitable

Cons There were cockroaches EVERYWHERE.. crawling in and out of the door to the kitchen and on the TV My husband even saw a rat crawl into the air conditioning unit The fish my mother in law recieved was sour and spoiled The owner was well aware of her infestation problem and instead of attempting to rectify the situation she stated her restaurant had better reviews than Golden Krust.

Unfortunately, this was our first time visiting and will be our last. The owner's husband was very accommodating and pleasant and attempted to rectify the issues with the food. But his wife kept making excuses. Maybe, if we arrived earlier we would have experienced better...
